RUMOURS of Steve Cotterill taking over as manager of Nottingham Forest have emerged after the former Bristol City boss was spotted watching the side at Reading on Tuesday evening.

Whether it was just a chance meeting, that is up for discussion, but Cotterill was snapped talking to Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi, the man that sacked him when he took over the club in 2011.

Forest, who are currently under the charge of interim boss Paul Williams, lost out 2-1 to the Royals which saw them plummet to 17th in the table.

Cotterill has been out of work since January after he was sacked as manager of Robins, despite leading them to the League One title and Johnstone's Paint Trophy the previous campaign.

The former Cheltenham boss has been linked with the likes of Wycombe Wanderers and Bolton, while he is now 8/1 with Sky Bet to take over at the City Ground.

BBC Nottingham Sport snapped Cotterill talking to Kuwaiti businessman Al-Hasawi at the Madjeski Stadium.
