Easy in hindsight and all that, but happens to often really not to be a 'thing'. On balance, 0-1 would have been a bit of a smash and grab, so will take what it is. Yeah, I highlighted all from the BBC live text during the game, it was 5 times in the end that he was caught offside, to be honest at his age in the position he plays you would think that would be one of the basics you would have nailed. And considering that despite leading against them in the first half of the season they comfortably beat us that day, this is progress. 6 minutes ago, GrahamC said: Pretty sure a Brentford draw would do it. We're safe. Yup. MK Dons (possibly with a third choice keeper) have to go to Sheffield Weds on Tuesday and win. Then they need to repeat that against Brentford at home and Ipswich away. And at that point they'd still be a point behind us going into the final match, and only if we've lost all the other games. Sounds like a big ask, but even more so when you consider they've have won only once in the eleven games since we beat them. We will need to complete implode to go down now, and even the most negative of us must see that is unlikely. I'm breaking out the liquor tonight! 2 Quote Link to comment

Here's to Brentford beating MK next week to keep us safe. You've jumped ahead without considering Tuesday's games mate. If MK lose away to Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday we're safe (apart from maybe Charlton who need to win all 4 of their remaining games and overturn a far worse goal difference) Quote Link to comment
Andy082005
The only positive from today was we got a point. That really was dreadful. Did well to grind out a result there . Quote Link to comment
ChippenhamRed
At the end of the day, a very satisfactory set of results, a step closer to mathematical safety and a league place higher. I'll take that. Quote Link to comment

And we could realistically draw three and lose one now and stay up, which is a situation we could only have dreamed about a few months back! 1 Quote Link to comment
Kodjias Wrist
On way back from the game now and I feel happy we got a point! We did not deserve all three points tomlin used his magic to score and other than a great chance with reid beating the keeper we looked second best. Brentford played some good footy and rarely lost the ball in position. The only negative from our performance was that we struggled to keep the ball in the final third Quote Link to comment

Chairman Mao
Only Bryan, Reid (poor poor miss mind, think it was a bottle job from the ref though) and Tomlin played well O'Donnell was on a different level Quote Link to comment

Earlier in the season we'd likely have got destroyed under similar circumstances. 5 Quote Link to comment

reddogkev
Irrespective of the late goal, that's a respectable away draw, a decent point on the board. I'd love us to finish on at least 55 points. Well done the reds, should be a cracking game Tuesday, the pressure is off. Quote Link to comment
RedM
They absolutely battered us overall. We should be delighted with a point in the end, Brentford should have had all three. We offered little goal threat and defended pretty much all game. O'donne kept us in it, my motm. On train to Waterloo now, heading into London for a couple of hours 2 Quote Link to comment

DT The Optimist
It is a good point. A few have said we were poor. No, they were good. They moved the ball with real speed and 'tempo' and always found space on the flanks. Very happy with a point , hard earned. I am up here for weekend and on bus leaving ground locals commented on how strong our midfield was and those two 'monsters' in our back line. Thought both had good games but did not see pen at far end or their goal with clarity. Thought Kodja was poor today and failing to hold ball up kept giving the thing back to them. All in all very happy, let's finish up on 53 points or more and move on towards next season. Look forward to finding out why Tomlin came off, did LJ fear another yellow for him? The locals here had a history with him over some celebration after he scored when playing for Boro in play a off game. Hahaha Edited April 16, 2016 by DT The Optimist Quote Link to comment

Alex_BCFC
We were poor today but were seconds away from the win. Matthews got roasted first half which was odd after his recent good form. Midfield was non-existent until Tomlin scored. Reid helped a bit. Just shows that after last week, there is still a long way to go. Quote Link to comment

While we're all relieved at the improvement since Cotterill left, we're still a million miles from being a serious team in this division. We still will be should we sign all our current loanees permanently in the summer. We all know that ain't happening, though, and if the addition of Matthews and Tomlin (for instance) is outnumbered by lower league arrivals such as Hammill, Gilbey and Cummings, our owner's talk of a top 6 challenge next season will be yet more pie in the sky baloney.
