How much more respect would these players get if they came out and said `Sorry, we have been crap this season but are determined to stay with the club and get back up at the first attempt. This will soon become the norm each year. These guys know they'll be elsewhere next season earning more money and will have long forgotten what they did collectively to that club, the fans and the staff. Mediocre talent who was lucky to be English because otherwise he'd never had made the levels he did. He was there more on nationality than merit and he shows total disregard to those who 'funded' his undeserved wealth.
