13k have taken up the offer.

Today marks the deadline for Leeds United supporters to ensure they are eligible for the club’s unique 2016/17 Season Ticket incentive! Today is also the deadline for existing Season Ticket Holders to guarantee their current seat for the new campaign.

As a clear statement of our intent to gain promotion, in the event that the club does not reach at least the Play-Offs next season, we will offer all Season Ticket holders who purchase their Season Ticket before the Tuesday May 31 deadline a 25% refund on their Net Season Ticket price*.

In addition, should general admission Season Ticket sales surpass 15,000 by July 31, 2016 , and the club does not reach at least the Play-Offs, the Season Ticket refund, for  qualifying Season Ticket holders only (see below), will increase to an incredible 50% of the Net Season Ticket Price.

WHO QUALIFIES FOR THIS OFFER?
All general admission Adult, Concession and Junior Season Ticket Holders who purchase their 2016/17 Season ticket before the May 31, 2016, deadline are eligible.

Fans who purchase their Season Ticket after May 31, 2016, will not qualify for the refund in the event that the club does not make at least the Play-Offs.

This offer is not applicable to ‘United for 20 Years’ Season Ticket Holders.

NET SEASON TICKET PRICE
*Net Season Ticket price is the Season Ticket price minus VAT (20%) and then minus the Football League Levy (3%).

13k? Isn't that what we have sold so far as well, without such gimmicks ;)

Guaranteed money back?  You heard it here first: no chance they get a rebate.

In reality (although I'm sure they will) they can't invest that ST money - why would you - you may have to give 50% back at the end of the season.  But let's say to try and keep their word they spend big in the summer and then don't make the play offs.  Can you see Cellino stumping up 50% of what will essentially have to be his own money (he's spent the ST money remember)?  Not a chance.  For this to have any legitimacy that money needs to be ring fenced in bank.

Of course they'll get their money back. They are legally bound to do so if those are the terms on which the season tickets are sold. Apart from that, the backlash and bad PR would be catastrophic if they didn't pay up.

You are aware of Cellino's history, right?  I stand by my claim, despite being 'legally bound' - they'll not see a penny in return.

And as for bad PR and backlash - Cellino doesn't give two hoots for it.

I imagine the money will come back to the fans in the form of a discount on next season's ST, with some cleverly worded, legal explanatory statements.

Yup, I can see this happening too. The price for the season after this will increase to cover those costs. Say they get £180 quid back then the price will rise by £200 at least for that season, promotion or not!

He'd give two hoots when the fans refuse to renew season tickets the following year having been lied to and effectively had money stolen from them.  That would be an almost inevitable outcome to at least some extent.  There would also likely be legal repercussions and he wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

They aren't being offered money back, they are being offered money OFF next season.

It says refund. Surely refund can only be money back on something you've already purchased? If it said discount....

Oh no they won't. The club will declare bankruptcy.

Yes, but that thesis relies on fans being sensible and prudent. Are you? Am I?

Does anyone think he remotely gives a shit about things like that?
