Major Isewater
So says Bale , the media indignant , but he's right is n't he ? 1. They're English and possibly not qualified to play for Wales 2. You can't be capped by two different nations at full international level . or have I just made this all up . djb6162
Quite frankly this whole conversation about Wales players who would make the England team is irrelevant, for lots of reasons, to be honest how many of the below would make the England team ? Listening to Brazil and Warnock this morning they major on it as a clinching factor in predicting the result.,However Russia got a draw didn't they, and quite frankly that's all Wales need. Akinfeev, Smolnikov, V.Berezutski, Ignashevich, Schennikov, Neustadter, Golovin, Kokorin, Shatov, Smolov, Dzyuba. As for passion, Bales point was that as a small rather insignificant nation in football terms at least, passion and country come across more loudly and more importantly among a team who are well grounded, not on big salaries etc. And hes right !!! Just watch the Welsh reaction to the goal versus Slovakia and then look at England's response to their goal v Russia. Not criticising either celebration, but absolutely the Welsh passion and pride is on another level isn't it , and involves players on the pitch, the coaching staff, Manager and subs? so what has Bale said that's wrong... i don't get Jack Wiltshire or Hodgsons response personally. RedRaw
So we're now judging a players/teams pride and passion by how they celebrate a goal? Nah, that's rollocks mate Shearer just stuck his arm in the air when celebrating a goal........can't question his pride, passion or commitment to Newcastle and England

It's a much bigger deal for the Welsh to be at the Euro's, so when they scored it's how we might celebrate scoring in a quarter/semi... Nothing to do with pride I'd say. HoldenBall
I think people are taking this out of context a bit. He's just focusing on the Wales camp and his team mates rather than bigging up the English players, he knows deep down 80% of English players will walk into the welsh team. Bales been having a few digs at England the last few days, saying they've got more passion and that England are overhyped. They had a good win but he's getting a bit carried away with all the emotion of it all. I just prey that we beat them comfortable on Thursday as he wont be so cocky then.
