A tiny taste of what is important. Worlds ... Good, but not the top gong. Olympics ... The ticket, The ride. The facilities. The training. The coaches. The scientists. The funding. That's right. To say that British track cyclists had been 'cannon-fodder' prior to these Olympics is quite bizarre. That'd be the men's pursuit team with 12 Olympic and 28 World Championship medals between them prior to Rio? Perhaps the women's pursuit team with 3 Olympic and 25 WC medals between them prior to Rio? Or maybe Kenny with his paltry four and eight, or Trott's two and eleven? Becky James's seven WC medals?
