where's the joy Posted August 20, 2016 Report Share Posted August 20, 2016 O'Neil was fantastic today but duplicated all that our centre backs or a marlon pack holding midfielder should be capable of he was picking up the ball so deep he couldn't hurt anyone higher up the pitch. yes he gave a 90 high tempo performance but he's better than that positionally. reid, tomlin and freeman often lost the ball in promising positions but more importantly were way below O'Neil's ability. way too much long ball from our centre backs and nothing from Tammy to hold the ball up. Fiale Posted August 20, 2016 Report Share Posted August 20, 2016 Well he was kinda all our midfield today - I thought when I heard the team announced we would struggle with just one DM / Holding player / CM i.e O'Neil but thought he did brilliantly, the other 5 players ahead of him really needed to create more. Thought we looked pretty solid... just need to get the attack ticking - I mentioned in the Portsmouth and Wigan threads that we simply do not get the men / or the ball into the box enough, we just dilly dally and get crowded out before losing the ball Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
