The Official Bristol City v Blackburn Rovers Match Day Thread

Probably what was needed an ugly win but plenty to work on this week. The final pass, crosses and as great a player as Tomlin is he really does give the ball away far too often in and around the centre circle.

Just to add to the Freeman debate he has the look of a player that has the football version of dartsitis, he seems incapable of releasing the ball at the correct time and that delay is costing him.

Can't deny it's a sweet victory in what was a pretty poor game.

Not getting carried away with our position in the table for me it's flattering to how we've performed over the last couple of games; we really have lots more to do however a win won't do any harm to the players confidence and gives them a better footing to build from.

Good ol' Wilbs bailing us out, thanks to a bit of quality from Tomlin.

Also nice for Smith to get a chunk of minutes under his belt, and that we've somehow stayed inside the top 6, despite only getting three points in three games.

A bit of a 'free hit' against what is looking like a out-of-form Hull team on Tuesday, which could be a bit of a confidence boost if we do get something, but a few tough league fixtures coming up.

Will need strong performances in our next three matches (Barnsley, Brighton and Birmingham) to get anything, so hope this helps lift us.

Freeman was frustrating as had several chances to take the ball on the outside of his man and every time turned inside into congestion. However, at least he kept showing for the ball and trying to make something happen. Paterson was a virtual spectator, just like he was at Cardiff.

Agreed and on 55 minutes had probably the games best chance and failed to hit the target.

Good for Geoff for taking on that regular Radio Bristol misery guts Ian...time to drop him from his roster of callers. Apparently it was an appalling game of football...with which Geoff disagreed. Knows it all this chap Ian...amazed he's not managing the club...

During his time on this forum, he once stated that he would have got Danny Wilson's City side promoted.

Joe looked really good when he came on, even playing on the right wing. For me, he should be starting left midfield as he's so great going forward; let him drop back to left back in his 30s! Freeman, O'Dowda and Paterson can then fight it out for right midfield or be cover for Tomlin and Bryan.
