We have had none all season. Patterson, Bryan and O'Dowda are all central and Little and Golbourne offer nothing. We get bogged down in the middle where there is no space.

Against the lesser sides Tomlin and Tammy can bail us out but against organised teams like Brighton and Newcastle we create nothing.

Exactly what happened tonight, couldn't agree more

In fairness Bryan, on good form, can offer that width for us and can put in good crosses. However, Paterson, Freeman and particularly disappointingly COD all look to come inside all the time which is part of the problem of getting service to Tammy.

Would it have mattered, how often did we actually have anyone in or running into the box - you could argue it's because they know the balls not coming, but the odd few times it does, there is no-one there for miles.

This - on one occasion Bryan got behind the full back and shaping to cross - in the 18yrd area and slightly ouside a grand total of one City player (Abraham) as opposed to  4/5 Brighton players and this was 2-0 down. He got the cross in, over Abraham, easily cleared.

The idea of 'Little bombing it down the wing at any chance and Paterson moving inside' did not work.

It was so obvious as an instruction, but yet still so ineffective and obvious.

Hey ho.

Also nice to see we didn't miss Freeman tonight. Was glad Pato could fill his role of running around in circles and back & forth.

I've been thinking for a while that we could do with an out and out winger in January, someone who will stay wide, can beat a man and can get the ball in the box. All of our wingers regularly want to come inside which is a big part of why Tammy's not getting any service, if we had someone getting to the byline dragging balls back for him I think he'd thrive on it. There must be loads of players like this at prem academies, hopefully lee's already got one lined up.

Yes no width corners are a joke and set peices lm sure need working on

Have there been any corners or free kicks this season where you would think 'that was a move they've obviously practised in training'?

Very poor on set pieces imho and no sign of the supposedly enlightened coaching that LJ is often claimed to exhibit.

I don't think signing a out right winger will help as it's not how we are playing. The players are being instructed to come inside, if they were constantly ignoring LJ's instructions Johnson would not pick them. look at the beginning of the season when the players were new and had not played much / been coached much in our playstyle so were expressing their own ideas. We had width, we were getting crosses into the box that Tammy was converting, we were getting to the byline and charging towards the near post and laying the ball of to players running into the box - all the stuff we as fans like to see, but as the season has progressed we have seen less and less of this as they are coached into the style of play and being instructed in a certain playstyle. Hopefully we will see results soon in this more narrow over loading in the box / D - but it's not really much fun to watch at the moment.

Yesterday I thought Paterson needed a lesson from our Scotty on how to play down the wing, terrible for coming inside far too often. Most notable was actually for the second goal, he stays outside then GON has an easy pass, we attack, no second goal. Instead he comes inexplicably inside, gives O'Neil a really hard pass to make, and we know he rest. A lot of people were quick to have a go at GON about the second goal but for me that's where it went wrong.

We need pace..

It's what we lack and what you won't get promoted from this division without.

As I said elsewhere, we have 4 wingers (if you include JB) all left footed, they all have had a go on the right and cut back on their good foot.  The other side they didn't do much better, if you do the same thing all the time it's easy to defend , and SG is not going to overlap too often and Little is struggling going forward or back. If we are going to play with no width then at least the 'other 2 midfielders' have to bomb on and support or even pass Tammy. and give Tomlin,GON and the rest a target , the lack of movement is a real problem.
