For anyone interested, I would recommend the antiques shop at the top of Christmas steps (near the Colston Yard pub, believe it's called Potters).

The chap in there has a huge wooden drawer of old British pre-decimal coinage, some of it dating back to Victoria's reign. Only a few pence to buy off him on a coin by coin basis and a nice bit of history to own.

Thanks for that, never heard of it before but a quick Google turns up some interesting positive reviews of 'Potters Antiques & Coins' ... will be popping in there sometime soon for sure...  its been years probably since I've browsed an interesting non-mainstream shop, really fancy a bit of quirky :)  ... (St Nicks is probably about as 'off piste' shopping wise as I've ventured in recent years) ....

So it looks like its going to be  'in for a penny in for a pound' (literally) for me,  ... as the saying goes!
