When your playing career (at least at Ashton Gate) was accompanied with a fans' commentary that often unfairly identified his height as a reason not to be worthy of a first team place, it takes bottle to sign two extremely tall players. As a manager, I would have expected him to favour fast but smaller players to reinforce the idea that height isn't important. With these two signings, he clearly sees that we need to take the fight to other teams rather than being pushed around. In my very amateurish days of playing left back, I can't imagine what it would have been like to line up against Flint, Hegeler and Djuric at a corner!
