52 points is definitely safe.  20 points from 16 games.  5 wins, 5 draws, 6 defeats.

Pessimistic below is 4 wins, 5 draws and 7 defeats.  Going to be tight.

Always ends up a bit higher as teams with nothing to play for drop points against clubs near bottom

Some one put up every day that average safety is 47 points so as I said, doubt it will get anywhere near 52.

I think 52 is the absolute max and that is very unlikely this season.

Previous seasons not relevant.  If Blackburn carry on like they are they will finish on 46/47.  Usually bottom teams get better results near end of the season so I'm saying 50/51.  Thus we need 52 to be sure.

Hopefully we will be ok, but, I look at current form as the last 15 games and we've won 1. As I said, with that form we will get no where near.

it's been a season of extremes...extremely good before November....dire to end of January. If we can achieve the median we'll be fine...

Where is the evidence that bottom teams get better results at the end of the season? I'll go along with the 47 as posted the other day - 52 is guarenteed safety but we won't need that many! I do think that Blackburn might get above Burton (and us though).

I'm hopeful Forest may to continue to collapse...

I don't see much value in putting artificial points targets on the season and then judging our likely survival on whether we reach that total or not.

Surely a more valid exercise would be to predict our results and those of our relegation rivals and see where that leaves us.

Everyone is guessing at results, if predicting results was as easy as others say, then Ladbrokes and Willam Hill would have gone bankrupt 50 years ago!!!

Try this mate. It seems fairly well put together.
