If only....

does anyone on here still rather hand their season tickets back than have a proven manager at this level in charge....just because he is not a nice man.

i would love a nasty ****** in charge with nasty winners playing for us.

we would not be in this position if warnock was in charge anyone who says differently then I'm sorry football is not for you.

You wouldn't see me at the Gate with him in charge.

Wretched antics like we witnessed against Rotherham at Home last season.

He tried it on with LJ's Dad too so I'd rather play football in the right spirit frankly playing Teams off the park.

Like we did at a Derby albeit for an ultimate disappointing result but that's how the game should be played well for me anyway.

Warnock always does a great job with Championship sides. Rescued teams twice in successive seasons too.

Think he's appears a decent bloke and often complementary about us. Yes he encourages his teams to adopt gamesmanship but it's effective and we could do with a bit of that at times.

Would have loved it if SL brought him in but think that's very unlikely now as NW more a short term fix these days and doubt he'll work many more years.

This makes me vomit. Never want that nob head at my club regardless of the situation.

His team scored 4 at derby

The ill-informed sages on here who constantly abuse Warnock, and hilariously call him Colin, don't know anything about football management. He's fooled them all with his perfectly rehearsed media persona which constantly deflects attention away from his players, and he continues to succeed, again and again. No one has more promotions on their CV than Neil Warnock...

I actually don't disagree with your footballing argument and I would be happy for the club, but I wouldn't go down as I really dislike the man on a personal level.

Never liked the guy and never wanted him here but you got to admit that he would get far more out of this squad the LJ.

His teams are never exciting but he knows how to set one up, he has so much experience which is exactly what we need.

Its not really about his results. Its more the fact that he is a massive nob head and I don't want to be associated with him.

It'll never happen, it's SL's money and he spends, either himself or through his puppets.

As long as SL's here we'll never have anyone like Warnock.

Think about all the money that has been spent on players (transfers and wages) and it's got us no where but there has only been one constant. SL, the man at the tp, just think about that.

It goes without question that he should have been in here a long time ago. I have no doubt he would have taken us to the premiership. After decades of failure we need to get over ourselves and our delusions of grandeur and get someone in who can do the job (with a few bob and in his own way!)

This thread is so low....

The guy you are rimming is currently employed by our arch rivals and is a complete nosher. Surely there are other names to talk about.

You're like that prat who sits behind me who doesn't understand the slightest thing about football.

do you think his press conferences causing scenes and niggling away at other clubs is because he's sour or of the sorts?

the man plays the game in the media (which obviously winds you up more than anything) as well as he gets his players to play.

He's a top class manager with proven success, who else would you suggest out of interest?

Oh dear.

I just said that I'm not arguing with his previous results. I just think his personality stinks and I would prefer to look at other options.

Should have been given the job.

He'd have guaranteed us Championship football at the very least and he wanted the job - a manager with promotions to the PL on his CV, but he isn't a yes man so was not wanted here.

When should he have been given the job? And didn't LJ keep us in the Championship anyway?

The fact Warnock is more of a short term fix is the opposite to what SL wants. If LJ was to be binned, it's more likely they'll look to a manager like Rowett

You'd sneak back in when we were in the play off places.

I, for one, wouldn't. The club would get none of my money for as long as that man was associated with it.

And if all football managers set their teams up to play like Warnock, I would stop watching football: it would be unbearable.

Luckily, I think there's about as much chance of SL letting him anywhere near the club as there is of him disinheriting his kids and leaving everything to me.

All this talk of "I'll stay away if Warnock comes here"  is utter bo##ocks!  How many said the same about LJ when he was appointed or Cotts or SOD or anyone else that you would like to mention? If he came and got results and made us successful he would fill the stadium and you all know it. His record speaks for itself. some say we need to toughen up and get more streetwise. This is what he gives. If he had these players we have now under his control, we would not be in a relegation fight IMO. Its too late for him now I think so we will never know. Its a bit like the Clough for England saga. The people wanted him but the bosses said no, end of!!

Rowett would come in and do the same as what Johnson did. It's the new manager effect. That's more likely to be short term fix.

You incinuated that I prefer a nice personality over results. Thats ridiculous.

Cotterill had the personality of an Argos checkout worker but I loved him to bits.

I just utterly despise Warnock for a number of reasons. Have people forgotton his digs at City in the past? THe QPR incident? He's a cretin, would rather take a gamble on someone else.

That's cool, you're obviously happy to muddle around in div 3 with the odd temporary foray into div 2, that's fine...

Or do you forget the phantom goal he got cheated out of at Ashton gate, did he not have a reason to be upset with us then.

Have you lost the plot mate? How does not liking Warnock mean that we are happy to "muddle around in div 3"?

I think you should go and have a cup of tea and calm down a bit.

It seems incredibly simplistic to me to suddenly lick Warnocks arse whenever we are on a bad run...

Have a fantastic evening.

Read his autobiography. He loves us. Dedicates about 3 pages of his book to us, a club he's never managed. We have been foolish to turn down such a successful manager that wants the job. He's not even a local boy but recognises our potential and always has good words to say about us. He plays the pantomime villain, don't let that get in the way of your thoughts about him. Better than being Mr. Nice Guy and getting walked all over like a lot of our managers.

No I haven't lost the plot, as a club we seem scared to go for a proper, proven manager who can take us up, we seem to be still reeling from the Coppell saga....and in case you haven't noticed, since then we have just muddled around in div 3 with the odd foray into div 2, just like I said...and when a proven Championship is mentioned (like Warnock) you 'don't like him cos he's a bully'....Jesus...go and have a cup of tea...

Exactly, it's not binary and not as if Warnock hasn't had relegation on his CV in his career - maybe that's where he uses his alleged media savviness to keep his image tippity top. He's clearly a capable manager in some situations, doesn't mean he would (or wouldn't) succeed with City.

So appointing Neil Warnock is the only way to prevent that, is it?

The club is getting a lot of things right at the moment, including trying to take the long view, which I believe is the only way for a club like ours to work its way to competing with the big boys in this division.

I don't believe LJ has what it takes to take us to the next level. But if we replace him, it needs to be with someone who might be able to stay around for a few years and make our players better - which is not NW.
