Luke Ayling. Gestures?

I hope that this didn't happen

Why should LA hold any ill feelings? He's moved to a massive club, probably got a pay rise and he's on track for play offs. I'd be chuffed to **** if I was him. I'd have shaken LJs hand and smiled like a Cheshire cat

Sounds like you've already done it, but for my benefit, what actually happened?

When has this been said before and why did we sell him then?

Its been covered on here countless times since he left. SL was furious that we were associated with the indiscretions at Cheltenham and decided he didn't want him at the club. When Lansdown wants you gone, you're gone!

That's one theory, never confirmed afaik, but it really doesn't hold much water when you consider SL's support for the likes of Bradley Orr for much greater 'indiscretions'.

I'm only passing on second hand info but have heard essentially three different versions of the same fundamental story all from pretty solid sources.

It also seems to stack up with what some people on here have suggested (who are much better connected at the club than me) !

Okay, thanks for that. I wondered if it was DoF thing, but I didn't think that role extended to extracting players.

That approach does rather undermine the roles of Lee Johnson and Mark Ashton. I wonder if they made efforts to change Lansdown's mind, as we've ended up losing a player in a position that's been an Achilles heal all season.

I understand that there was no love lost between either Ayling and both Johnsons. Starting at Yeovil. The player and managers were professional enough to get on with the job. Matthews when fit is a better player than Ayling.

Thank god for that............

For what it's worth Ayling showed respect towards city fans at the final whistle and I saw nothing untoward between him/city players/city management during the game.

Sounds like people are trying to create a situation out of nothing to me.

On OTIB? Well who'd have though it?! ;)

Anything to deflect attention from your pathetic manager. Ayling on two occasions a City player was injured showed genuine concern and went over to see if the player was okay.

Before each half he was having a cheeky joke with a few players on the bench (all laughing and smiles)

I think he has genuine affection for some of the people in your squad, since he has been here he has been nothing but a good influence on the team and spirit.

Perhaps he should think the same about LJ.

So somehow we need to get LJ drunk, doing something stupid and in a national newspaper.

now that is a good idea

I have just read that Luke made an obscene gesture toward LJ at 2/0.

Amyone know anything or specifically see anything at the game?

There's a fair few in the Dolman making obscene gestures at LJ accompanied by some fairly ripe language at most home games. Ayling was a good servant to the club who had a good rapport with the fans.

The Orr thing happened ages ago. I think SL is bigger on the brand image of the club now with Bristol Sport etc. I would wager if the Orr thing happened today, he would also be gone.

He could have stayed at our shambles of a club...I bet he cannot believe his luck.

Agree completely. Ayling isn't a vindictive bloke and he always seemed on good terms with all at City. As for the Cheltenham incident, I don't think he actually did the deed, but was just laughing at the daft antics of others.A sad day when you get disciplined for laughing?

Maybe its the fact he was caught laughing at some clown urinating on people below (or something along those lines) and it was plastered all over national media, hardly looks good for him or even the club he is employed by

Wasn't it later confirmed that the area they were stood in faced away from the track, and no spectators were directly below, I.e. The urin wasn't thrown over anyone.

Does it matter? Regardless if noone was underneath, hardly normal behaviour for urine to be thrown anywhere in a public place... still doesn't look good.

Plus the BHA had banned the people involved from all racecourses...

I was just commenting that the player wasn't urinating on people below.  Getting your knob out and pissing in a pint glass at a public event is pathetic I agree.  Ayling guilty by association.

I'll never understand how footballers think they can pull this kind of crap without consequence... I know its young lads out on the lash, having a good time but you would think that they are role models to young kids so have a little more responsibility than your average Joe Soap

Going to be a struggle to achieve that!

What's your expectations for Leeds for the rest of the season?

I think we'll maintain a top 6 place and beat Newcastle in the playoff final, Brighton and Udders to go up automatically.

(all provided Wood doesn't get injured, if he does then we're fooked)

You beating Newcastle in a playoff final might be a way I could support Leeds.  But unlikely.

And, with all due respect, there is fooked and then there is fooked.  We are fooked.  You aren't even at first base even if Woods does get injured.

You really think Huddersfield will make top two?
