Like Ayling?!........must be better RB's than him....gonna check

I've gone on performances that I've seen this season.  Not saying he is actually second best in the Championship but from what I've seen this season he has been.

Problem with these sorts of lists is that you see each team play 4-5 times per season which is a small percentage of their games!

Off the top of my head:

Goalkeepers - David Stockdale, Scott Carson

Right Backs - Deandre Yedli, Luke Ayling

Left Backs - Paul Dummett, Scott Malone

Centre Backs - Christophe Schindler, Shane Duff, Lewis Dunk,  Pontus Jansson

Central Midfielders - Jonjo Shelvey, Connor Hourihane, Aaron Mooy,  Tom Cairney

Wingers - Matt Ritchie, Alex Knockaert, Tom Lawrence, Rajiv Van Le Parra

Strikers - Dwight Gayle, Scott Hogan, Tammy Abraham, Chris Wood

Sure I've missed a couple of glaring ones and also sure others will disagree!!

Prob have Bruno over Ayling if you want a solid defender

Good efforts.  I like the Ipswich keeper who's name I can't spell (not Gerkin).

Gunter a possible at RB.

Turner from Burton as a bit of a unsung hero.

Dale Stephens, Brighton in midfield, Williams, Reading too.  Don't rate Hutchinson at Wednesday.

But can't disagree much...

Much better than I would've come up with.

RB Ayling has been immense, absolute bargain of the season. He's in top 3

Wood, he's more than a goal scorer. In the top 4 strikers and actually doesn't get that many chances to score, just clinical.

Was anything but clinical last season and only scored something like a dozen when playing in a sh*t side.

Hutchinson's quality mate, was tipped to be Lampard's replacement at Chelsea but had to retire at 21 because of a really bad injury. Came back to football a couple of years later and has been unbelievable for Wednesday this season, by far and away their best player.

Gunter is a good shout. I also forgot McCleary at Reading!

Didn't realise the injury. Every time I've seen him play he's either got red carded or should've been!!  He's Wednesday's equivalent of Xhaka!!! I'd take Danny Williams over him - but all about opinions.

Just as matter if interest, how many of our current squad would get in to a Championship best 22. I thought 22 as it gives our guys a chance. So they would have to be one of the two best in their position in the championship. I am struggling to find one.

Besides Tammy,I think over a whole season that Hegeler could well be in the picture..

I felt a disturbance in the force.

A lack of Barry Bannon. That's a real quality playmaker there, Tomlin take note.

Bannan plays a totally different role to Tomlin though, sits deep whereas Tomlin plays in behind.

Absolutely mate!

Changed it to make it more accurate for you.

Are you Bannan's agent or something?

No, I wish I was a football agent earning money for doing nowt though!

We won't offer him more than he's on at Wednesday

Again True

and I doubt anyone involved in our recruitment reads this forum mate, you're wasting your time.

Possibly not

Wasn't saying we would sign him, as much as I would like that personally as him and Hegeler in the middle would be immense, but I would far sooner have him in the 22, before Lee Tomlin, who in my eyes is as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Barry Bannan is quality, would love to see him in a City shirt.

I reckon had he been here all season, Jens Hegeler would have got in the top 22.

Lee Tomlin??? Is that a joke, not even in the top 100, useless.

Tammy quite rightly our only one in the best 22 for me.

I said at the start of the season he's a lovely player, lovely left foot, but doesn't influence the game.

WRONG!!!!!!

Have been impressed every time I've seen him.

Yes, Bannan is a great player I think, but had a lot of stick from Wednesday fans this season and they've been calling for him to be dropped several times.

They've got £4m man Almen Abdi waiting in the wings who scored a banger on the weekend on his first start in forever, so we'll see if he comes back into the side.

Sort of player we should try and sign if SW go up, he's no good in the division above.
