bpexile
It might be stateing the bleeding obvious but how many of the previous managers that were labelled not good enough could have done so much better if they had been given the resources that LJ has been given. What are your thoughts.

What are your thoughts. I think McInnes was somewhat hard done by and pretty much set up to fail considering how much he was expected to slash the wage bill at the same time as maintaining our Championship status. That SOD achieved so little/even less after he took over would seem to support that view. Plus McInnes seemed a decent bloke, especially around that incident with the minibus at St Andrews. The fact that he has subsequently had some relative success with Aberdeen, albeit in a league only 1 team is ever likely to win as things stand, suggests he is a pretty reasonable manager, who may yet go onto better things, including perhaps another trip south of the border at some point. When he was originally appointed for us, an acquaintance who is a St Johnstone supporter, said he had been the best manager they had had in many years and was very disappointed he had left them. Not quite the feedback we had regarding our current manager from the fans of Barnsley!!
