What about Pitt and the (in)famous rivalry with City's Peacock

When they hit each other with right handers somewhere in or near the Muller Road penalty area. Both sent off. From memory it was a 0-0 draw on a wet miserable day.

I met Ernie quite often in the summers when he played cricket at Filton playing field with Syd Morgan for Southville Wayfarers. Also when he used to come into the insurance company I worked at in Broad Street early-mid sixties. Always laughing and cracking jokes. Died too young. A City legend.

Bob Bennett's cartoon in the Monday E Post showed the two players sat together in a cinema  as suspended players were not even allowed to train with the club in those days.

Bob Bennett was also "Uncle Bob" the pen name of the journalist who did the kids page in the paper and the father of Roger Bennett who did Radio Bristol Breakfast show until he died some years ago.
