Never Forget !

I went to the away game that very season. As usual, I was on Coach 2 with Beryl driving (ok she wasn't really but it was her coach). I had read that morning Simon Inglis' review of Valley Parade in his 92 Grounds of England and Wales book. I shared with a few on the coach that Simon stated sitting in the main stand, because of all the pillars and struts, was akin to flying a Sopworth Camel.

Simon Inglis then said that when he looked in between the wooden floorboards, he could see empty paper cups etc that could be a potential fire risk.

One of the Coach 2ers sat in that stand and agreed afterwards it was like flying that WW1 aircraft!

It could so easily have been City that day and not Lincoln. Coach 2's return journey would've been unimaginable.
