Lanterne Rouge
Australia have been good with bat and ball but India just haven`t turned up. They do have a lot of young players though and the occasion`s got to them I think.

Lrrr
Bit of fun anyone, what Test, ODI, T20 team would you have likely picked for West Indies based on performances up to the postponement of the Sri Lanka tour? Any county players you'd have liked to have seen given a chance in a particular format?

Who would you pick if you had to pick separate squads? The Test Championship would be more important. The ODI side could be made up of the specialists in that format and younger players with a view to the World Cup. Buttler I think could be left out he's massively under pressure and excels in white ball, Archer I'd question throwing straight back into red ball after injury when there are white ball matches instead. Stokes would probably be in test team in that situation. Admittedly I was just trying to make the best possible

Admin phantom Posted April 28, 2020 Admin Report Share Posted April 28, 2020 "Sarwan, you're a snake. You're wicked, you're evil, you're poison." West Indies legend Chris Gayle did not hold back as he criticised former Windies team-mate and captain Ramnaresh Sarwan in a remarkable 15-minute video on YouTube. Batsman Gayle, 40, was released by Jamaica Tallawahs last week before the next edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) - and he is in no doubt that assistant coach Sarwan was to blame. "What transpired with the Tallawahs, you had a big part to play," said Gayle, who is the leading run-scorer in Twenty20 international history. "You know, Sarwan, you're not the most loved person in the Caribbean. No-one in your own country loves you. "You're so vindictive. You're still immature, still stabbing people in the back." Gayle led the Tallahwahs to the CPL title in 2013 and 2016 and, after a spell with St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, returned to the franchise last year. Despite scoring 116 in his second game, he managed only 243 runs in 10 innings as the Tallawahs finished bottom of the table. He has signed for St Lucia Zouks for this year's tournament, which is due to start in August. Gayle is West Indies' leading run-scorer in one-day internationals and played 70 of his 103 Tests with Sarwan, now 39, who retired from international cricket in 2016. "You are no good. You are despicable," said Gayle, who has not played for West Indies since last year's World Cup. "You want the franchise, have it. There's no Gayle. You run the show." The video was the second of three Gayle released about his departure from the Tallahwahs. He also claimed the management knew a month ago that they would release him but did not tell him at the time. He suggested the tension with Sarwan dates back to their time playing age-group cricket. "From 1996, that's when our careers started in youth cricket days. We shared the same room in the West Indian Under-19s," said Gayle. "You allowed the management staff to send me home from Barbados. I forgive but I'll never forget that. "You told the management team you can't sleep because Chris Gayle was watching TV too late in the night. That's what I got sent home for. "In everybody's eyes you act as if you're a saint, like you're a good person. "Sarwan, you're evil." Super
Good news The BBC will show highlights of every Test and one-day international played by England this summer, starting with the three-Test series against West Indies in July. And Its Smith
Team pretty much picks itself I think with only question mark being spinner and wicketkeeper I would be going 1. Burns 2. Sibley 3. Denly 4. Root 5. Stokes 6. Pope 7. Foakes 8. Bess 9. Broad 10. Archer 11. Anderson
Lrrr
Can't see Foakes coming back in he averaged mid 20's with the bat in red ball cricket last season, he's not had the cricket this season to make a real stake for it. I also want to move on from Denly at 3 and would go with Crawley instead, Denly is 34 and 6 50's in 24 innings and no test ton to his name. The other route I could see them going is Moeen Ali at 3 as a way to get 2 front line spinners in the side as Root doesn't like bowling himself. Bare in mind Root is also likely to miss the 1st test so Denly may get a reprieve anyway and Crawley in the side as well. If I was to predict what I think the first test line up will be then Burns Sibley Denly Pope Stokes Bairstow Ali Bess Woakes Broad Anderson

Lrrr
Bess gets the nod, can hold up an end well so makes sense, seems they don't expect the pitch to turn as no 2nd specialist in the squad. Only change I'd have wanted to see was Dan Lawrence in the squad for Joe Denly who I think we need to sack off. Jos had something like 5 dismissals in an innings and was not out so makes sense he keeps the gloves as well. Foakes/Bracey get the reserve nods over Bairstow. England squad: Ben Stokes (capt), James Anderson, Jofra Archer, Dominic Bess, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler (wk), Zak Crawley, Joe Denly, Ollie Pope, Dom Sibley, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood. Reserves: James Bracey, Sam Curran, Ben Foakes (wk), Dan Lawrence, Jack Leach, Saqib Mahmood, Craig Overton, Ollie Robinson, Olly Stone. For me: Burns Sibley Crawley Denly Pope Stokes Buttler Bess Woakes/Archer (depending on pitch) Broad Anderson
