More lazy crap journalism. If it's not the Premier League then the 'big' press have zero clue.

Agree, are we cobblers hard up, we were very net positive on the transfer front last season and SL has always kept the stadium costs separate from the football budget.  We might show a net loss when the accounts are aggregated but we are far from hard up.

Never before has a manager had a player worth £15m sold in the same season. Net spend of....nil if all of the add ins are realised in the Kodjia deal. Hold the front page.

The board knew full well in the summer that Kodjia would not see out the end of August.

SL was prepared to give Cotterill £10m for a single player, with no outgoings, so you could argue that he was backed even more generously than little Lee.

Bottom line is City managers have, and will, always be backed under Lansdown.

But surely this is the point?

It's irrelevant where the money came from (actually the fact it came from  one player who's replacement was already here, is even worse) now the simple fact that Lee Johnson spent the money and managed the team last season.

Look to the future, but in a couple of years time people will see last season for the failure and balls up it was.

I wasn't debating the merit or otherwise of the signings Johnson made. Simply saying that the OTIB myth that is 'Cotterill never had that' is nonsense. It's well evidenced that the club were prepared to spend incredible sums of money on HIS targets

Cotterill just backed the wrong horses.

We are minted.

We have not spent the money from Kodgy-wodgy yet.

The we've got the sell-on money from Bolasie.

That's before the money we get for selling Flint and Bryan.

We'll have money for a whole new squad (to sit on the bench).

Whoppee!!

It's not bollocks, but completly true. Never before has a city manager spent £15 million on transfer fees in one season

Never before have players like kodjia been worth 15m, its all reletive, is a manager backed anymore now than they were in 2008 for example? I don't think so but fees are out of control

I have often wondered what the equivalent of the £600k Wilson spent on Lee Peacock would be in today's prices. In relative terms he spent a fortune to not get out of the third division.
