both our local new's do a pre season review prior to the new season of its teams in the region

Neither have mentioned it on the their local news as of yet

When they do the Bristol City one,I'll let you know.

Because I don't think your interested in the others.

Sound of the City is back on Radio Bristol tonight at 6pm and will be worth a listen I'm sure...

It's the Radio Bristol Sports Forum live from AG tonight with Marlon Pack representing BCFC and Pat Lam for Bris. Broadcast starts appx 7:30pm. Also reps from Bath Rugby, Yeovil and the sags.

Marlon Pack? WTF. Shouldn't this be the job of SL/JL/MA/LJ ?

If this is what I think it is then they have had players on before, if I remember rightly Pete Trego, Carey and the tosser with the beard from them lot over the river have all appeared on it.

LJ did it last year with Dopey and Yeovil's gaffer. I think Shaun Marsden was there from Bris and David Denton for Bath.

Hopefully LJ will be elsewhere securing the services of new personnel!

Its a good show though and I'll be there. They speak a lot more candidly than the usual sound bites you hear on BCTV etc. Pack cones across well on there so hopefully it should be good.

If someone could put on the forum if anything interesting is said by Lee on tonight's programme it would be appreciated. Thank you.

Rumour has it he prefers Cornish scones to Devonshire scones.

Not sure where abouts you are in Hampshire, but can't you get BBC Bristol on freeview?

Or listen online....it's streamed live and available on catch-up.

Maybe today would be a good time to announce a new signing/someone leaving, if Johnson is gonna be on.

Flint off, someone in; imagine he'll get asked about these issues.

Posted

You can listen to it on the BBC Radio player app thingy.  I usually do this on the way into work on a Tuesday and it can be a really good listen most of the time.

Still after a winger and forward (on loan) was that?

Kelly not going out on loan as close to first team.

Still saying no bids for Flint but there is interest. Brum being one club, none from Leeds apparently.

No cliches - just speaking very sensibly

I agree, a few hints at improvement to closeness of the squad and emphasised the importance of having a good group.

Enquiries but no bids.

Kelly close.

loan or promote a forward , Hinds?

Bids in for a couple.

And Pisano and FD are lovely blokes. Think that covers it, oh and it was a very big goat

Thought he sounded a little downbeat? Still, came across ok but he's always talked a good game - need to see results now.

See what you mean - thought he sounded quite 'calm' - maybe it was depression :laughcont:

Was asked about Ripley and simply said he wouldn't comment on other people's players.

Sorry NS - missed that then

Lloyd Kelly won't be going anywhere (On loan) atm as they see him as close to first team standard

I agree with LJ!!

Geoff asked him about Connor Ripley, although side stepped it , said cannot talk about other teams players after having a dig at Harry, but sounded like 'you never know '

Dare i say it, he sounded quite good. No complaints there, and its nice to hear about Kelly being close to first team ready. Side stepped the Ripley question well, there was more than a hint of "We'll see" about it.

One of those City fans on radio bristol wants another centre back!?

And he seemed surprised when Geoff listed Mags, Baker, wright and flint (depressingly forgetting Jens and Moore.) No wonder he expects us to get over ten million for Flint!

and a ball winning midfielder like tomlin.

To be fair, if I was going to go live on radio I would probably get drunk first too.

Still none the wiser to if he calls them daps or stans or whatever. The new media guy should ask it as their first question.

I think Kelly is being kept around as they are worried Bryan could spark some real interest once deadline approaches.

For whatever reason he doesn't see Magnússon as a LB and I suspect Golbourne is probably top of the list of those he's trying to move on, which means we've got no other cover.

That leaves Kelly, and I reckon he'll get some game time in cups at least in order to see what he can do.

Reminds me of "Late up show" day before christmas day when people call in and get a rim for their christmas gifts

I think you need a different forum mate if you're talking about rimming :laughcont:

Interesting to see Marlon regards Joe in such high regard. Hopefully we'll see him in a more consistent fashion this season having a year at LB under his belt.

A lot of flack over last 12 months... Think he's decent. Good left peg, pacey, off the pitch a down to earth kid. Could do with some serious coaching on positioning as a fullback, but he'll come good imo :)

Couldn't say himself, although would've been funny if he had!

And there was me wanting a pair of Gola Jets. If only I'd known.

Sat in the Heineken Lounge, Lee Johnson mentions Carlsberg.

Naughty boy. I'll forgive you though Lee. They both taste like p***.

Whilst he said he wouldn't talk about other clubs' players, I'm sure in the past he has said if we aren't in for one, after all it hardly unsettles their player to say we aren't trying to sign them. So with that in mind I'm taking it as proof we are still negotiating for Ripley.

I thought the same. If there was absolutely no interest in Ripley LJ could have said so, without contradicting himself regarding his earlier Arry Redknapp comment.

Thought he came across really well last night. Feel more positive about the season after listening to him.

For me it's clear Engvall won't be here much longer. For LJ to say he's had a long chat with him this week, and then went on to say he picks players purely on quality rather than any personal preferences. Add that to the amount of times LJ has not used him in a matchday squad is only going one way IMO..

Posted

Caught up on this today. Thought Johnson came across well, then again he always does in my opinion.

Reading between the lines it sounds like he'd be happy to let Engvall leave if the right offer came in, but in the meantime he will feature.

Big season for Matty Taylor - think he sees Taylor and Diedhiou as first choice. From that interview I wouldn't be surprised if another striker comes in as he's clearly a bit concerned about injuries.

Interesting panel of guests on afterwards.. did I mishear or did one of them seem to think that Everton or a team of similar stature might make a massive offer for Aden Flint?!  Bizarre

Is Marlon upset that Joe has refused his Invitation to dinner?
