Saturday parking

Not a direct response to the query regarding Marsh road restrictions but a warning as stated in The Post that Firefighters and Police are joining forces to clamp down on bad parking around Ashton Gate. A joint approach by parking wardens, PCSOs , parking attendants hired by the club and the Fire Brigade. Drivers who park too close to corners or make the road too narrow for fire engines & buses will be ticketed or have their cars towed away.

Apparently Bristol,Sport is required to pay for an official Matchday parking scheme as part of the planning conditions for Ashton Gate but the scheme is only triggered when three out of five consecutive matches at the system attract crowds of  25000

The police & fire fighters should think about this at Wellington hill when the gas are home, parking is on bends, corners, talk about illegal parking,

Exactly this. Whoever negotiated this with the council at Bristol Sport is a genius. It's possible that "five consecutive" matches could conceivably include Bristol Rugby games, in which case it's likely the threshold will never be broken. Even if it does just apply to City games, the fact the Upper Lansdown isn't generally open (apart from the new family section this year) means crowds will always be de minimis.

It's a very thorny issue on the local Facebook groups that's for sure.
