And Its Smith Posted August 15, 2017 Report Share Posted August 15, 2017 Doubt I can add anything to what others have said about general game but here are thoughts on each player Fielding 8 - a lot of routine saves but they must be made. A couple of excellent stops.. MOTM Pisano - 7 - dealt with Watkins reasonably well. No chance to get forward Wright - 7 - organised and concentrated well. Some great blocks Baker - 8 - a left footed Aden Flint. Headed and blocked everything Bryan - 6 - struggled with Jota and LJ says not fully fit Pack - 6 excellent first half and was everywhere, pressing and good in possession. Tired badly second half Smith - 7 harried well first half and good in possession as well. Brownhill - 4 - struggled to get in the game and gave ball away a lot Paterson - 3 - waste of space and went hiding second half when we had the ball. Did run around a lot Reid - 5 - nothing apart from goal which marks him up from a 3 Duedhiou - 3 - extremely poor. No brain when we needed him to hold ball up. Won three headers all game. Poor touch and no composure COD - 8 - our best player after he came on. Run at them and made them back off Defence very good but attacking players just not at the races and provided zero outlet. Agree with the Reid and Diedhiou ratings, FairPlay to Reid for the goal and pleased he's doing so well but concerned about the lack of striking options currently available. Youngish Posted August 15, 2017 Report Share Posted August 15, 2017 Fielding 9 - Oustanding. Kicking poor but we could've lost that about 6-1 without him. Pisano 5 - Struggled, gave away too much ground and poor balls to the front men. Wright 7 - Brick wall. Baker 7 - See Wright. Bryan 5 - Not fit and you could tell. Was off the pace all night but at least got forward well for the winner. Brownhill 5 - Battled hard but never ever an option for Pisano, leading to many of the poor balls we saw from him. Pack 6 - Very composed first half but struggled second half. Smith 6 - Battled and worked hard all night but always seemed to be running to where he had to be rather than already being there. Paterson 5 - Tried to make something happen but end product often poor and ran into traffic too much. Diedhou 4 - Didn't win a header all night and didn't close down enough when they were on top. Ball couldn't stick to him either during that spell, meaning it was wave after wave for our back line to defend. Reid 6 - Great finish and worked tirelessly all night, but otherwise he struggled to impose himself. Was consistently outpaced by their CB. COD 7 - Finally we had someone with pace to stretch and close down. Good touches and good runs, and did better than Reid and Diedhou in the air. O'Neil 6 - Composed. Hinds 6 - We needed a second striker and he did the job. Johnson 4 - Needed to prevent us from falling deep (a tough job, admittedly) and he didn't. Needed to make a change earlier and didn't. Went 4-5-1 when it was 1-1 and invited more pressure on us, leading to their second. Overall this was a very poor performance - we've robbed em but who cares eh? Roll on Millwall!
