simon uk Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Which 4 faces would you pick to be imortalised on the avon gorge from our great history?
Red DNA Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Gerry Gow, Jackie J..., Mike Gibson & Scott Murray. All real heroes in their time.
Guest Euan BCFC Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Atyeo, Murray, Gow and Jackie 'can't spell his surname'
Phileas Fogg Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Considering I've only been watching since GJ's time.. would have to be GJ, Carey, Cotterill and Steve Wigley
Davefevs Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 I'll choose a keeper, defender, midfielder and striker: Basso, Hunter, Gow, Taylor coukd easily have picked several others.
A Horse With No Name Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Alan Dicks, John Atyeo, Ken Sage, Gerry Gow
BCFChris Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Nicky Hunt, Sean Dyche, Tony Dinning and Ian Baird
RedRock Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Player: Atyeo Manager: Dicks Chairman: Lansdown Staff/Supporter: Beryl

No Newton, no Victoria, No Churchill and no Bevan. I think you have to do better than that mate! And,.. Wigley? LOLZ. He would be painted over with graffiti in less than a week. Is this a genuine possibility btw? I mean is there a group trying to find the best 4 from our history? Not a bad idea as it happens. Brunel is the obvious one for starters.
WTFiGO!?! Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 It's got to be Steve Lansdown, Mark Ashton, Andrew Billingham and Lee Johnson for me. Creatively interspersed around the Bristol Sport logo.
Nibor Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Taylor, Taylor, Tinnion and Murray. The four best players I've seen in the flesh. No, not Ryan or Matty. Though you could go for all four and make it sound like a legal firm.
Zip Nolan Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Off the pitch; Deryn Coller, Ken Sage, Steve Lansdown, Harry Dolman. On the pitch; John Atyeo, Chris Garland, Gerry Gow, Louis Carey,
CyderInACan Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 If you'd choose Avon Gorge to immortalise our best ever servants, where would you choose to do likewise with our least favourite? Filton Avenue? Horfield Comon? The UWE Campus at Bower Ashton?

Eddie Hitler Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 "Slightly" before my time but the top City manager was Harry Thickett 1905-10. Under Harry we got promoted to the top division and then recorded our highest ever league position, runners up. We also got to the FA cup final, losing by a single goal. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Thickett

Loco Rojo Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 I know there will probably be better Legends to include but i'd go for those i've seen play and were part of the most entertaining City team i've seen (all about opinion right). So.... Tinman Murray Taylor Bell

Bristol Rob Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 I remeber being away at Chesterfield when Tinnion was forced to put the gloves on and go between the sticks for about 70 minutes, are there another 3 outfield players who have done similar? Just wondering if we can manage a Mount Rush-Goalies-More

Big C Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Atyeo Dicks Cooper Lansdown on the Bench Wedlock. It was a tough decision between him and Lansdown but went for SL because he could fund it

ZiderEyed Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Beryl, that Bald steward at Barnsley, Dave Coles and Marina. Done.
22A Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Players; Atyeo and Wedlock. Manager pick 2 from 3; Alan Dicks & Harry Thickett for guiding City into the First Division or Terry Cooper for rebuilding the club in it's darkest days. Then again we could feature another four from assorted sports played in Bristol. Pullen & Thorne from the rugby. Proctor from Glos CCC and Phil Crump from the Speedway.
AppyDAZE Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Giant "Dicks" carved into the gorge? Mrs. Whitehouse would've gone mad
