luke_bristol Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Apparently we pick teams pockets by "drawing fouls and slowing the game down" according to their correspondent at the game today thoughts?
luke_bristol Posted September 30, 2017 Author Posted September 30, 2017 Didn't get to the game today but by the sound of it they were kicking us to pieces, hardly the same as "drawing fouls" when garner should have been sent off....twice! So I'm told.....
Luxo Jr. Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 This was from a man watching us against Garner and Waghorn?
Guest Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 We win games due to good team play with lack of egos unlike last year, players who are in great form and full of confidence and having talent in every area of the field
Fjmcity Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Drawing fouls and taking chances he said. Whilst largely incorrect what he said it wasn't quite as derogatory as you made it out to be was still bollocks though. Lazzzzyyyy journalism
luke_bristol Posted September 30, 2017 Author Posted September 30, 2017 Just watched it back....."drawing fouls to slow the game and taking chances" are the exact words he used.
Roger Red Hat Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 I think we now have players who are technically far better than before, this does tend to mean they get fouled more due to their tricksie footwork etc. People used to moan about the amount of fouls Barca were awarded, but that was partially due to the players superior technique.

Up The City! Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Was he watching a different game to me? It was Ipswich that were the dirty ones.
Shtanley Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 People just can’t comprehend a smaller team winning free kicks.
Lrrr Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 As someone said being the ones to draw fouls with Garner on the pitch being the master and **** that he is.... As for slowing the game down we tried playing with pace and a high tempo something the commentators on the stream I was watching praised us a lot for.

AppyDAZE Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 And yet the Beeb think Warnock is a genius Fock off BBC, just go away Applies to SKY, C5 too We are crap, concentrate on our Welsh wonders plz
CiderHider Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 You know, you know the Artful Dodgers do it like that!
luke_bristol Posted September 30, 2017 Author Posted September 30, 2017 The correspondent was Marc Webber
Red white and red Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Why do people worry about this sort of thing? Just let everybody ignore us, say we're lucky, we are punching above our weight etc. Let's just keep going under the radar with no praise. Suits me fine!
CotswoldRed Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 BBC simply have their favourites and City have never been one as far as I can recall. "Drawing fouls" is pretty ambiguous though.
BCFC Rich Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 If we are trying to slow the game down imagine if we tried to play at pace! We must secretly have a load of Usain Bolts in the team just waiting for LJ to let them losses!
Cider_boy Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 When we came up to the Championship our biggest problem seemed to be that we weren't 'street wise' and other teams were able to win free kicks against us, while we never seemed to get any. Whilst I disagree with what he says, I think we have at least stopped being push overs now.
