Moan moan moan...how long was that?

Where's the moan, I read it as on observation, a fact perhaps?

I can't decide if this is good or not. It's my local game and I'd rearranged my life to fit around it being on the 9th. But now it's a nighttime kick off I can have a few more beers before and after than I might otherwise have had

One thing I know; the wife is going to be pretty mad when our weekend plans change yet again...

Just suggest you can now go shopping on the Saturday ;)

Was looking forward to this one but won't be booking time off to sit on the gridlocked motorways for hours.

Would never buy train tickets this far in advance for any away fixture, Sky have their announcement dates for live games throughout the season and its been well documented.

I only live an hour from Sheffield.

Arranged my bell ringing club (long story) Christmas dinner for 8th December, so I had the Saturday 9th December free for an away trip to Blades. Ar$e!

Take your fellow campanologists along for the evening!

We have to go on the beer and discuss this bell ringing club.

M5 and M1/M6 on a Friday?  I mean I wouldn't have been going anyway so being on sky is a bonus for me but that's a horrendous trip on a Friday.

Bet you've got the right hump over this.

She's not really a shopper I'm afraid. The bigger issue is probably that it's our daughter's birthday... she'll be in bed by 7, but that doesn't leave much time for beers. I'll figure it out!

Think you've found yourself a game, how many beers can you drink in 45 minutes

Catch 22 with trains though isn`t it? To get any sort of price that doesn`t involve taking out a second mortgage you have to book weeks in advance.

This Sky business has to affect away attendances all over the country. I am always nervous about committing in advance and like others can not relax until we reach the deadline for announcing TV games. Armchair spectators rule (alas)

Long distance away games should be void from Sky. Ruins atmosphere imo.

If Reading, Brum, Villa, Wolves we’re moved to accommodate Sky then you’d still get a good away following. Will never happen as it will mean less people watching on the box for them

While its extremely unlikely that Truro will ever be on Sky, Their closest "away" match this season is Weston. 300 mile round trip. Closest away game.

Still they sent 730 people to chelmsford this season, 660 mile round trip. Edit: Oh and they lost 2-0

Can you get a Hemmingway pun in here though (in context)?

Not In Our Time you won't!

Having said that, the standard of puns on OTIB can be a Moveable Feast, so anything's possible.

I am referring to the Sheffield United game being selected for live coverage and moved to 7.45 on a friday night as per the thread. How about you?

I was referring to the "suppose I'm not a proper fan" comment.

You were doing ok up until that point.

I don't get why some are angry at SKY? Clubs are happy to take the cash.

Sky doesn't give me any money, so **** Um. I expect more are happy than pissed off with the change simply because we dont travel well north of Brum . From a personal point of view I am jarred right off with the change.

Blame the club then.

Tbh I'm sort of glad it's now on sky, means I get to stream the game. I can see how Friday nights are an issue when I'd suspect most of you get Sundays off (or the added benefit that Sundays start at 10am)

I work Sundays from 5am (have to be up by 3:40am though) so it doesnt bother me, but like I said, can see the issues here, Friday traffic, normal Saturday job starting times. Perhaps just not drink?? Ya bunch of alcoholics you all are!! :P

Is that YOUR club? I read about that group. Or saw something about it. Either way it definitely rings a bell.

Bought train tickets for this,  was all part of a mates birthday celebrations. Sorry but I hate sky.

Back in the day games were cancelled due to weather fair enough cannot do anything about that.

But now Sky voluntarily choose to disrupt peoples plans and cost them money, and the football authorities allow them to, so that more money can be pumped into players and managers and coaches etc pockets - because ultimately that's where most of it goes.

Disgusting fans treated in this way.

Sadly the genie is well and truly out of the bottle, and won't be popping back in during mine or your lifetimes.

wtf is going on, have they confused us with leeds or something?

I'm taking this as NttDS introducing them to the league table at the recent AGM.
