iamalagerdrinker
Me and my better half are coming down to Bristol next month. I was wondering if anyone could recommend anywhere good to drink & eat?! I haven't been down for 10 years so i'm unfamiliar with local City pubs that have some shirts in etc. We're staying over a weekend Saturday - Tuesday, thanks! If you're into your craft beer then King Street is brilliant with fantastic pubs lined up like skittles: the volly, small bar, king william, beer emporium, etc. and then, of course, you've got the apple cider boat at the bottom! and speaking of cider, always a good pint of apples in the orchard on spike island. anyhow, some decent recommendations on these pages as well: https://www.timeout.com/bristol/bars-pubs/the-best-pubs-in-bristol https://www.timeout.com/bristol/bars/the-best-bars-in-bristol for Indian, my first port of call whenever i go home is Nutmeg in clifton village: http://www.nutmegbristol.com definitely a bit different to your run-of-the-mill curry house, but the quality is faultless. kevinmabbuttshair
Steaks, steaks and more steaks. Cau, steak of the art and cow shed. The ox on whiteladies as well. San carlo is always decent if a little overpriced. Gianni on the steps in St Nicholas Market is a really good Italian
ZiderEyed
Small Bar on King Street. The Angel in Long Ashton if you've got a car.
Mr Popodopolous
Curry wise, Al's Tikka Grill is quite good. It's near the ground- if you're after something more fancy, probably not. Vincenzo's on Park Street is not bad at all- as I'm sure you can tell by the name, it's Italian. Plenty of City pubs- 3 Lions the obvious (sure people have mentioned it), Spanish Bar is quite good too I understand- but 3 Lions best for memorabilia etc.
