southstandred
As stated elsewhere, our team that finished last nights game cost roughly 7 million to assemble, (man city approx 800 million) . With club policy now being to buy young players, improve them and then possibly make a profit, (which clearly the coaching staff are doing) how much do we think the squad is worth now compared to what we payed ?? Admin Chris Posted January 10, 2018 Admin Report Share Posted January 10, 2018 It may have only cost £7m to assemble, but the value of the squad to us is priceless.
Dastardly and Muttley
If we look at realistic prices for each player, as in what we may accept, I’ll have a go. (Please bear in mind it’s almost impossible to estimate this accurately!) Frankie - £2mil. Bailey - £3mill Flint - £9mill Baker - £5mill Mags - £2.5mill Bryan - £10mill Pack - £3.5mill Smith - £4mill Brownhill - £5mill Pato - £4mill Reid - £7.5mill So a total of £55.5 million. Probably way off with some of these estimates. Bryan for example could go as high as £15-20mill if we got into a bidding war, or even Reid for £12-15mill if a Prem side was desperate. Anyway, c£50mill in profit is not bad going.
southstandred
That's a pretty accurate assessment I'd say.

"What we may accept" - as you say, right now why would we sell those players. You seriously think we might accept £2m for Frankie right now? Only £4m for Paterson? It's your opinion and that's fine, but I think it's rubbish. For what we would accept right now, they're all way too low, we don't want to sell anyone! Don’t actually think that we would sell anyone willingly. However, if circumstances transpired - say the players wanted to leave, what I’ve quoted is what I would say would be a fair value both for us and the buying club.
