JamesBCFC
Not City related at all, but these things go past who someone supports. "The Mo Fund is a group of people who want to help Moin Younis and his family. Moin won the Teenager of Courage Award at the 2017 Pride of Britain Awards, he is also a proud ambassador for the Acorns Children's Hospice, Birmingham. Moin suffers from the rare genetic disorder Epidermolysis Bullosis (EB), which makes his skin very fragile. He endures a painful five-hour regime every day to bandage his skin. There is a new clinical trial led by a European team which could help Moin, however it is only available in Austria. The treatment is an ambitious attempt to treat the skin with genetically modified skin grafts. It is important to understand that there are significant hurdles. Firstly, Moin will need to be clinically eligible for this treatment and even then he will need to apply to be accepted onto the trial, there are no guarantees that this will happen. However, if he is successful in being accepted for the trial, there will be a significant cost implication which would make it impossible for him to undertake this without help. Moin will need up to £250,000 to enable him and his family to go ahead. This would be needed to cover day-to-day medical treatment costs while abroad (yet out of hospital), as the actual trial if he is accepted, is funded. His support team and family will also need support whilst living abroad, not to mention pre and post clinical assessments which could continue for over two years. We are currently working closely with Moin, his parents and his clinical team in progressing towards this and we will keep all supporters regularly updated on his progress." Moin is an Aston Villa fan, and the club have pledged to match £20,000 if it is donated by fans. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/moin-fund
