Lanterne Rouge
We lost one of the true greats of English football, Bobby Moore. taken far too young at 52 by bastard cancer. I was too young to appreciate the `66 World Cup really but it was things like his tackle on Jairzinho in 1970 that made me love football and for that I thank him. If you`re interested there was a very good programme on R4 extra yesterday about Bobby presented by Angus Loughran which should be available on the iplayer, it`s well worth a listen. CotswoldRed
52 seemed old to me back then. It certainly doesn't now. As you said, bastard cancer.
