Andy Horsman
Sadly just another example of the massive imbalance that prevails throughout football from the Premier League downwards. And another pathway into the game potentially closed for local talent.

Gets a fair bit of a feature in Nige Tassell’s "The Bottom Corner", a boom about the league’s below League 3. Bishop Sutton are a big part of the book. A nice read. Loco Rojo
Something has to change in football and soon. Yet another story (although I'm sure there's more to it) where the foundations of the football pyramid continue to struggle and the larger clubs just have money given to them in a plate. There's definitely an imbalance in the game when it comes to the money distributed amongst clubs.
WarksRobin
Tranmere have always had to fight for good young players with the big clubs around them. Sad that EPPP has put them at even more of a disadvantage, and yet another example of the growing inequality within the game.

Cowshed
Bristol City voted for the EPPP. As the largest club and highest category academy in then South West its in the clubs self interest to have taken that stance..
Admin Maesknoll Red Posted March 10, 2018 Admin Report Share Posted March 10, 2018 We could / should be doing better, 41st in productivity, being beaten by some grade 3 academies. http://www.trainingground.guru/articles/academy-audit

Lrrr
The general move with situations like this (as well as Brentford and Huddersfield who operate without an academy) is that they will pick up players at the age of 16 rather than

There were Championship clubs that did vote against the EPP. Bristol City did not. The funding for a club like BCFC was hardly vast. The benefits for disempowering financially other West Country clubs could be advantageous. The prediction was the EPPP would shut academies, and it did including academies in the West Country.
