Arsenal replace Wenger with...

I can only presume that Simeone turned them down.

He was the obvious choice for Arsenal, can only presume the lack of Champions League football put him off considering At. Madrid are in it again next year.

Would love to see Simeone in the Premier League.

I wouldn’t say a man whose team is defensive as hell would be the obvious choice for Arsenal?

Their defence is the only thing that they need to improve. Wenger was too stubborn in his ways to get his teams in recent years to defend properly. Simeone does it brilliantly.

I did quite like what someone put on Twitter earlier.

Basically Arsenal have done what they always do - considered the big name signings (Simeone, Enrique) and then decided they were too expensive.

Thought about turning to the youth (Arteta) and then deciding they are not quite confident in their ability.

Then thought "**** it, we'll just find someone doing okay in France" and wound up with Unai Emery.

Why is Simeone perfect for Arsenal? Simeone is perfect for Athletico Madrid. Like a stick of rock, if you cut him open you would see red and white stripes and the words athletico madrid.

Emery has an excellent record, and not just the trophies won at Sevilla and PSG. He managed a practically bankrupt Valencia to third place in La Liga in three successive seasons, only behind the giants of Barcelona and Real Madrid. He is just the sort of manager who could get them back into the top 4.

I thought the Gunners would have had a pop at Rafa Benitez.....he won the La Liga title twice while València manager leaving Barca and Real Madrid way behind....
