Steve Watts Posted June 28, 2018 Report Share Posted June 28, 2018 Amongst all the disappointment over players leaving and who they go to, could we just take a moment to reflect on the fact that the Academy has now realised it's first £10m player. Joe probably leaving soon for a similar amount to Flinty means that the Academy is finally seeing some financial results for the club. With some of the youngsters coming through the Academy Joe & Bobby certainly won't be the only successes we have and I see exciting times ahead in the longer term. It's just a shame AshtonYate didn't survive to see this happen. He was a big advocate for scrapping the Academy if I recall correctly, and with good enough reason at the time - would've been nice for him to see the benefits. The future's bright....
