Just chatting to QPR fans...

Post game, headed to a Shepherds Bush pub. This was the feedback on us from a couple of QPR ST holders

- They we’re surprised we had fallen back as far as we had from the Man U/Man C game. Noted that we were slower, and we didn’t really press

- However, we were seen as comfortable at the back and passed the ball well. Feeling was that with QPR playing one up top they gave us the time, but notably was told “your defence moved together”

- Said our main tactic appeared to be hitting Watkins with diagonals first half. And that he had the beating of them

- Thought Maenppa was good in the air but a bit dodgy on kicks

- Liked Weimann. Thought he was an absolute pest.

- I asked about Freeman - they thought he was a “hell of a player”, but suffered from a lack of movement up top. Pointed out he played the same way with Kodjia and Tammy up front which rang alarm bells!

Ultimately, they thought we deserved our win. Said if they scored first half it was a different game (agree there), but were hugely disappointed with second half. No desire to see McClaren sacked yet because there is no huge candidate to step in, but do not see how he is an upgrade on Holloway. Kind of reflected in the lack of boos.

As for us - they saw us as mid table. Could take apart lower teams but would struggle against the big guns. Probably fair.

On an unrelated note, just also saw Jamie McAllister trying to get a room in the Hilton Kensington for the night . Gawd knows what the story is there!

Only 2 things football wise I can see tomorrow, Norwich home to Preston (Daniel Johnson now Smith's injured?) and Sunderland are at Gillingham but heck knows for that. Everything else would make sense to come back to Bristol. Otherwise you'd have to think its a personal stay perhaps if its a light days training tomorrow.

You're telling me! Especially as the K-West is nicer, cheaper, quieter - and nearer!
