Oddly, basketball could well impact their home support. Kids are going to struggle to get excited about a trip to the Mem when they can watch games on Sky, and with live sport possibly including high scoring basketball why would they bother? CyderInACan
Apparently Martin Griffiths and Pete Smith were at the Council House last week in meetings so presumably this is all already in motion, as it were, rather than just a vaguely aspirational plan. This will be happening.

hantsred
Looks really good ..especially the area between the AG and the arena. With all those added food and drink concessions maybe they could loose the coffee bar from AG and expand the overly cramped Sports Store!!

They use the Olympic basketball arena from 2000 as the biggest arena in Sydney so it is possible, it all depends on how they build it as to be decent for concerts you need it to be as long as possible. Because the court is so small vs a football pitch once you put a stage in up one end you obviously lose a lot of seating both behind it and to the side. I'm sure they're planning on it being a 4k basketball, 3k music venue but it all depends on space.

BS15_RED
I personally think it’ll take promotion, then staying up in the PL before the club consider redeveloping the Atyeo, we’d need to be selling out nearly every week, and only regular PL Football would ensure that. Love our franchise at the moment, 3rd in the league, constant re-development of our spiritual home by our local business owner. Meanwhile the culture club, with their jordinan owner, currently squatting in a stolen ground, who just failed to move out of Bristol to South Gloucestershire are falling apart. Up the franchise.
