Max not at fault last week imho, but Niki is our current #1, and off the back of two defeats I thought it was the correct decision. Max has shown he is capable at this level, and may as a result become first choice quicker than we expect. He has more presence than young Max ( that will come ) and seems to inspire confidence more than MOL. I loved his foray into their penalty area in injury time. What are you talking about..?! Max only ever played because Frankie & Nikki we’re out. The second either of them were back, they were always going to be back in. Max did ok. WWred Posted November 11, 2018 Report Share Posted November 11, 2018 The problem is with being a goalkeeper is that it's to much of a critical position to take a risk with. Playing a young goalkeeper is worlds apart from playing a young midfielder. Primarily because the consequences of mistakes/poor performance are far greater. On that basis I think you've always got to play the best goalkeeper you have available and in most cases that'll be your most experienced keeper. He wasn't very effective in his last two games after a very good start. Maybe the pressure got to him ? Who knows ? , the coaching staff I presume.
