elhombrecito
In Spain, a team in the segunda división, was kicked out at the half way point of the season. But instead of their results being removed, the results from the first half were kept, with all teams recieving a 1-0 win against them in the second half of the season. Though strangely the three points are only being added as and when they would have played the game, so some teams are in a slightly false position as they have a guaranteed three points to come that those around them may have already benefitted from. It's obviously a different scenario as they were kicked out at the exact half way point of the season, and because of the way Spanish fixtures work, every team had played them once, but I thought it would be interesting to share nonetheless! Mr Popodopolous
The damage so to speak. I doubt it will happen but if it it did and record was expunged for the season. The top 3 would all be down 6 points apiece. Middlesbrough 3 (I think), WBA 3 too, us 4. Dunno so much about those below- think Derby and Birmingham both got 0 pts v Bolton so they would be right on our tails.

Admin phantom Posted March 5, 2019 Admin Report Share Posted March 5, 2019 Now confirmed Greater Manchester police haven't been paid outstanding amounts owed. Bolton have been given 24 hours to sort sufficient stewarding for game against Millwall this Saturday or Greater Manchester police, fire, council and ambulance service will withdraw safety certificate, so ground will be closed

Players running on empty and all that...... Perhaps we could send them down on the 2nd last game of season?! Bottom tier for City fans anyone? Would Bolton be deemed to have forfeited the game, awarding the win to Millwall, or would it be rearranged?

Just had a look at the EFL rules, and seems to be nothing about points deduction / award to the other team...but a penalty (assume financial), and game Re-arranged. Cheers bud, I took the lazy approach and thought common sense would apply. Go figure, a financial penalty for someone unable to pay creditors. That’ll hurt... not. Admin phantom Posted March 6, 2019 Admin Report Share Posted March 6, 2019 POWER broker Peter Kenyon is making a last minute bid to buy crisis club Bolton Wanderers. The former Manchester United and Chelsea supremo, 65, has stepped in with a late move for Wanderers - just days after seeing a bid for Newcastle United collapse. Kenyon’s attempt to land Bolton could be perfectly timed as Cheshire-born Parminder Basran’s group run into problems buying from owner Ken Anderson. Basran has provisionally agreed a £27 million purchase but they found extras and other financial snags that made them draw back. Kenyon will still have to offer a price that Anderson accepts and also hope that the major creditor, the family of late owner Eddie Davies, also accept. The Davies family want the £5 million loan to the club repaid and are also looking for a settlement on other cash now and in the future that they think they are owed. There is no word on where deal-maker Kenyon has found the funds. He was working with Americans to buy Newcastle but also has contacts in the Middle East and Asia. Kenyon has been ambitious to find a new club. He has also worked closely with Middlesbrough and Wolves for a spell while staying active in the takeover bid world.
