kiwicolin
Since it will be Daniel Craig's last bond film, who do you think will get it ? If we were to have the first female bond , who would be your choice ? Mind would be Jodie Comer . Male bond would be Henry Cavill.
BS2 Red
I don't think there will be a female Bond. But if they did cast a woman then it'd have to be Thandie Newton, just to piss off the sexists and the racists.
Gazred
Not that it will ever happen but Charlize Theron would get my vote. Atomic Blonde gives you a flavour of what it would be like and it's set during cold war. Cavill does seem like an obvious established name to get it next. I think I'd rather they went with somebody more unknown though. Get somebody young and get them locked into a 5 or 6 movie deal so we don't have the Craig situation of every Bond movie being his last.

I don’t think it’ll be Cavill, especially if Snyder’s DC films start up again, apparently The studio for Bond likes the actor to be known as for playing James Bond, would Cavill be known for being Bond? He’s Superman and in The Witcher etc and already an established name on top of that. Think someone like Dan Stevens is more likely, gets excellent reviews but hasn’t had a massive role yet. If they went down the female route (which I honestly hope they do as a spin-off as a different 00*) then I reckon they could go with Vanessa Kirby or Florence Pugh. Would like Elizabeth Debicki as a Bond villain. * Bond has the potential to be a massive cinematic universe if you had films for cinema focused around Bond and tv series on a streaming service that could focus on different 00’s or build characters etc and then bring them into the Bond films with the audience already familiar with who they are. Admin phantom Posted January 14, 2021 Author Admin Report Share Posted January 14, 2021 I don't have much memory of ever watching the original films so have started watching them back on ITV4 this week. So far I have seen Dr No, From Russian With Love and Goldfinger and I hate to say I don't think much of the original films, obviously they were made in a completely different era but I found them very poor viewing. Thunderball on record and You only live twice is on tonight

1960maaan
I really enjoyed it, I thought it brought some story lines together quite well and I didn't mind the length. Made nicer by watching at Everyman and being served beer to my seat. Question remains, how do they go on now? As it was Craig's last Bond film, where do they take it? Personally , although I liked the email agents in this one, I don't like when they change a characters gender , so I don't want a female Bond. Also , they had the jokey one ,the sensitive PC one, tongue in cheek one etc. Now Craig has been slightly more action version. So where next and do they start all over again? As Daniel Craig started as he got his Double O status, could they go back further, or start again on Fleming's book one.
Admin phantom Posted October 2, 2021 Author Admin Report Share Posted October 2, 2021 I wondered if the films would now go back in order and be a bit like star wars in fitting in between other films? Well for those that have seen it will know one character that definitely won't be in a film set after this one But then we still have
Baba Yaga
I really liked it, enjoyed the storyline this time unlike Spectre and yes it was long but thought it was a good way for Craig to go out. Didn't mind the villain that much but maybe that's just because I really liked his old style lair and not because the character particularly stood out. Was concerned with all the delays in production but no it was very good watch and Lynch wasn't unbearable like I had feared.

Gazred
Well at long last I've seen it and i have to say it was worth the wait. I think they did quite well to add on another chapter in the Craig story arc that tied in to the rest. What's next is the big question though. Highlight below as spoilers... I was quite taken back that they decided to kill him off though, could of easily let him drive off into the sunset with a happy ending, it would of still worked. It surely has to be a full reboot next, new cast, new era. Agree on De Armas, what a star. Must of needed a shed load of tape/glue to keep her in that dress! I like how she handles a Vodka Martini (and an Uzi!), my kind of girl. Villian was pretty forgettable, certainly a hint of Dr No about him. Could be a long wait for the next one though. The producers have some creative thinking to do. Plenty of options open to them, look forward to seeing which way they go. You may of mentioned them before Tom but which one was your old school mate? Must be a brilliant experience to work on a Bond movie, they'd be working with some of the very best in the industry you'd imagine.

Also think he was an extra in QoS as a perk. Ah he's a VFX guy. Thought he might of been a unamed henchman or such that got dispatched by Bond! Yeh, certainly cool and very impressive CV there. Fair play.
Kid in the Riot
Watched it last night and was a little underwhelmed, but still thought it was good and interesting enough. Probably the least "Bond" Bond film ever. Didn't top Skyfall or Casino Royale for me in terms of Craig's best outings as 007.
LoyalRed
12 hours ago, TomF said: It’s mad you can already watch it on Sky. Shows you how much on demand TV services can bring in revenue wise. I think Craig set the benchmark so high with CR that it was almost impossible to keep to that standard even tho Skyfall wasn’t far off. £15.99 though to rent, how much did movies cost to rent at blockbusters or video Solent
Phileas Fogg
Thought it was disappointing. Don’t want to sound like a grumpy old man, but felt like they shoehorned in far too many PC themes. Probably the worst Bond film I can remember actually. Lrrr
Just watched it, loved it personally, maybe not hitting Casino Royale levels but I still thought it was excellent. The way they've done Craig's films as a continuing story gave them a great opportunity to do some different things in this film but also throughout all of them. I'd expect the next Bond to follow the same idea of a 4/5 film overarching story but more planned from the start rather than latching onto what the previous ones had done and incorporating it. Personally I'd still go Henry Cavill for the next Bond. On 06/11/2021 at 19:26, TomF said: That said with a reboot I guess that means a whole cast replacement so the likes of Q, M, moneypenny are gone. Not necessarily, Judi Dench carried over from Brosnan to Craig as did Desmond Llewelyn for different Bonds as Q.
