Unfortunately, Sheffield united are very good. So I can only see one outcome today. 3-0

Totally agree, sadly. LJ to extend his winless run to 7 games, that's as bad as SOD days, anyone know our record number of winless games in all competitions?

Nothing could be as bad as the SOD days, no matter how much you dislike LJ, anything he has put us through wasn't as bad as being stranded at the bottom of league one...

Agree in general and SOD does hold the unwanted record of longest winless run in league games of 16, but we did get wins against Palace and the Gas in cup games in between. So I was just wondering what our record winless run in all competitions is, perhaps it's already LJs record with his 8 defeats...

I predict we'll score an early goal, which will cause mass confusion in the Blades ranks as it's been so long since they conceeded. A rested City will then mop up the points with energy to spare. 3-1 City. Taylor with the third. ;)

Being 9th in the Championship is nowhere near as bad as slipping into the League One relegation zone following no win for months on end. Silly comment, come on you know better than that

I honestly don't know why some of you "support" this club.

I support this team through and through. I just don’t see us winning against a clearly superior team, both in terms of table position and recent form. That’s called logic and being a realist.

We beat a palace reserve side and a rovers team who were crap at the time (as good a night as it was)

Those two results don't make the pathetic period under SOD any better...

Break should have done us some good and may have hit their momentum. I hope the players are not as defeatist as some of our fans.

Predicting a score based on the level of performance in recent games and coming up with a likely defeat is "defeatist"?

Weird.

Form can change in a split second at any time, not to mention there's been the best part of a month since we played.

Every game is independent to the last.

Independent? It really isn't.

Yes, it's a different game, but that's just playing with semantics.

The same manager and players says our ability and likely level of performance today is inextricably linked to who played in the previous game(s) and how they played. Else any team in the world could beat any other team in the world at any time.

Form can change, but suggesting it will is more hopeful than the - dare I say - more realistic view taken by most here.

The stats say home win, probably 2-0 but these are the types of games where LJ and the team pull a rabbit out of the bag and get a win and then follow up with a win at Boro and hey ho - back in the top 6

Rabbit firmly pulled out of the bag!??

Apparently thinking we could get a narrow win today wasn't realistic.

Aye. No problem with people declaring them as favourites and thinking we might lose, that was perfectly sensible based on league positions and recent form.

However it was the insistence that we had no chance of winning, that we'd definitely get stuffed and that anyone daring to suggest otherwise was being deluded that is the issue.

How long do people have to watch football for before they realise that you can never be certain of a result in advance? Too many people make their mind up before a ball is kicked.

Past form is never a guarantee of future results. If it was, we wouldn’t go on winning runs after losing runs, or vice-versa.

We’ve had quite a few unexpected positive results this season, as well as some unexpected negative ones.

Hopefully this result will make a few people who like to think they know exactly how it’s going to go, that you can never be certain, and we are right in the mix this season. Genuinely believe an atmosphere of optimism could make the 1% difference on the run in.

COYR!

I'm right here, buddy.

If you had read my earlier posts correctly you will see, I effectively predicted this exact result and scoreline.

It's too much to expect any credit for this .................

When was the run of 16 winless league games under SOD? Genuine question....I remember a 9 game winless run in 2012/2013 under SOD and a 12 game winless run in 2013/2014 under him .... although, wasn’t one of those runs at the end of one season, followed by the other run at the start of the next season?! So, we went 21 league games without a win under SOD?! Blimey....
