I heard the news announcement that this Chinese team would pay Bale one million pounds per week.

Regardless of whether he or anyone else deserves that amount, how can his club afford that? His team mates will demand similar and where's the club's supporting income?

No FFP in China presumably?

Apparently they basically didn't want  to pay a fee for Bale and not splurging £50m odd on a fee would be what would help fund the £1m a week wages.

Because they have to pay the same in tax as footballers are classed as ‘Luxury Goods’ !!! As any fee paid

Serie A on a definite uptick again- good chance he'll have CL football in the New Year too. Don't think Inter under Conte such a bad move- Chinese League however...

Sorry, only read first bit about him going to China!

Inter would be interesting

Throw megabucks at big players, the bigger the better and managers. Lippi, Capello and now Benitez to name three- trying to fast track their way into national team football elite and this part of an idea to drive up standards IMO.

I'm really confused at the manager part.

What kind of football fan goes "oooh Benitez is managing them, we'd better go watch him point and shout from the sideline!"?

It's not so much for the fans, at least not directly.

Coaches can learn from them, compete- it's not necessarily to drive interest though that too as standards. Bigger names + money can help to attract bigger names- better the coaches, then combined with money the better the players they can attract. The idea then with this assistance, this impetus is to drive up standards domestically.

Chinese League has potential to become very decent, but being outside of Europe and no CL it'll have its limitations- could develop a highly useful national team though.

Quite a lot of interesting content about it online. Getting prestigious coaches- well it'll drive more interest and do so more quickly than appointing some randomer, journeyman or similar.
