Mc2Goalsky

An absolute belter of a McCoulsky goal to be fair - curled in from way out. City dominating possession. Can't break them down. Relying on crosses. Very fluid allocation of roles. All of Hunt, COD and Walsh have been in the RB position at times. Good City turn out.

Lots of decent crosses but nobody to make anything of them.

We really need that focal striker to get on the end of these crosses. Has been a bit of a theme this pre-season. Diedhiou can serve that role to a point but it's not his natural forte. I miss Djuric.

Does it occur to LJ that if you don't have that kind of striker you don't hit hopeful crosses into the box?

are we missing a striker. without Fam we seem very short up top.

Yes looking very lightweight up front. One or two decent crosses (Elliason) but no presence to bother the defence. Some nice touches but no one is putting balls through the middle. Striker and good midfielder needed still.

Exactly this. Crosses coming in from both flanks but we’ve nobody challenging for the ball. Fodder for their keeper and CBs.

COD only uses his left foot making him so predictable. He’s also given the ball away a couple of times allowing FGR to break.

Theyre catching us too frequently on the break which is a little worrying.

Lots of possession for us but can’t recall any real chances.

Second half starting.

Presumably LJ has told them to play in lots of crosses?

Either he's practising tactics for the new striker or he doesn't see what the rest of us already know.

Do we have a buy back on McCoulsky?

MA “we have retained a financial interest in his future” or words to that effect.  So I reckon so.

Is that missing Pack?

Only method of LJ attack. Crosses!

Never go through the middle.

This is England, we like to get it in the mixer! Whether it works or not is another matter.

The frustrating thing is we (City that is) have players capable of playing in a different way but still revert to type.

Not starting with a natural striker doesn’t help our cause for situations like that.

Weimann is not a natural. We just need different options up there and I really hope we address it. That’ll be two windows wasted otherwise.

You just need someone with decent positioning and a good jump/height on him. Living in the past but Tammy would fill his boots sitting in the 6 yard box and having crosses fed into him from Eliasson, O'dowda, Brownhill et al.
