Genghis Khan's pants
I see they've been fined a massive £315,000 for breaching transfer rules over youngsters. That'll teach them!!! No transfer ban though. Does this mean Chelsea have a good chance with their appeal? Got to be honest - not massively clued up on it all - any more knowledgeable folk out there! downendcity
Im sure Barca were give a 2 year transfer ban for "signing" players under the age of 18, but it does seem that there is a favourable consideration given to the biggest and richest clubs when they do break the rules. Had it been Watford or Newcastle I wonder whether they would have received such a "lenient" punishment, as a monetary fine is relatively nothing for any premier league team these days? Mr Popodopolous
Think it was a 2 window ban for Barcelona- and clearly they're a bigger club than Man City- maybe it was a first or minorish offence? Chelsea after all got 2 windows, think Atletico did as well. You may as well not do anything as opposed to fine Man City £315,000.
Lrrr
Depends what Man City actually did, Chelsea's offences were clear, obvious and deliberate. The notable one being Bertrand Traore seemingly brought over at the age of 16 or so to attend private school in the UK for 2 years (paid for by Chelsea) before they could sign him on at 18, but not only that he was played in Chelsea academy games under a different name (video evidence of him playing in matches)
