Prinny
Feels good. Nagy behind O'Dowda, Brownhill and Palmer Gives Palmer the runners he needs, both full backs, Weimann, O'Dowda and Brownhill can all carry the ball forwards and create space. Feels compact, feels like we can press or sit off depending on what we need. Gets a bunch of our best players into their round holes. Bunch of competition, with Massengo, Smith, Rowe all able to come in. And we only need one striker! Which is lucky! Wouldn't mind seeing this from the start of a game some time. Guest
Excellent post. I think the key word in your thread is COMPACT. Mourinho said a while ago on sky sports, whether you play it out the back and are attacking, or whether you are a defensive side that gets ball forward quickly, you have to be compact. Our great run of games of an unlikely Pato and Reid partnership, we were mainly very compact. We had plenty of attacking flair, but were tight as a unit, whilst playing some amazing passing football, full of pace and movement. I'm still not completely convinced by this system, but maybe with the right team sheet it may work. I felt we missed a bit of real quality in attacking areas until Palmer came on.
