L J Red card

We lost fair and square

How can he react like that

He obviously lost it

But he is the manager, he can not tell somebody else off for the same thing

How can SL accept these actions

It is definately not the first time

Joey Barton does it and we slate him rightfully for it

L J excuses excuses excuses

He needs help from another more experienced man, if he is to stay, but it won't happen

Time for all to move on

L J start again at another club, and us move on to the next step NEW manager New ideals

Has the red card been confirmed? Looked to me like LJ was congratulating him ( handshake & hand on shoulder), then the Brentford guy said something, LJ went to walk away & matey grabbed his arm. To which LJ didn’t take too kindly to. Something happen after? Surely not a red for that? COYR

I think using the term handbags is both sexist and demeaning - is his suggestion we shouldn't take them seriously? ?

Indeed it is sexist.

I'm in my forties and it seems most younger men have handbags these days.

Suggestion in the other thread is that he took exception to Benrahma showboating at the end.

Showboating yeah right. What, doing something we aren't skillful enough to do ourselves?

Bollocks! It was a piece of class, and fair play to the lad.

Jealousy gets you nowhere, LJ.

To be honest, as a manager who gets a load off quoting identity and leadership in his post match comments, and much like Williams, should have had the sense and composure to walk away amicably after being well, well beaten.

Someone needs to have word, because its both petulant of LJ, and just farcical.

It looked like it was yellow when the card was shown at the time.

It's difficult to tell from the clip who said what obviously, but Johnson clearly lost his head a little still whoever started.

You could tell by the reaction of all around that he was saying things well out of order. That seems pretty clear to me anyway.

This. Can’t see anything there to warrant any card? No mention of a card in the interview either.

Is he trying to squeeze Thomas Frank’s neck with his left hand?

Didn't seem to be a friendly exchange with the Brentford bloke despite the handshake.

Handbags as LJ said - but its happened a few times now.

Pressure taking its toll ?

Whatever, he needs to cut it out, its embarrassing for him and the club.

Seen a clip of it and in terms of actions there certainly wasn’t enough to warrant red card so assume it was something that was said?

There is a slight incident where the Brentford manager grabs his arm and Johnson pushes it away but that wouldn’t be a red.

I've just seen the clip. Talk about embarrassing. Not the first time either

If its for whats in the video then its a joke, things won't have been helped by Brentford getting a few favourable decisions (not the red) such as Korey getting boshed while in mid air not being a foul (foul against if I remember right?) Brentford players avoiding yellows where ours picked them up etc

You can hear the conversation now.......

Johnson: What the **** was that at the end?

Thomas Frank: Was a beautiful bit of skill, very entertaining.

Johnson : Entertaining? We don't do that shit down here...........

Was great to watch. I did say to a mate of mine if I was on the pitch the next time he got the ball, he wouldn't be getting up after. Of course we just stood off him again.......

Yeah that annoyed me as much as anything else yesterday. Not one of our lot had the gumption to try and launch him into the stand after he took the piss like that.

Get the sentiment but knowing how it goes for us, that could easily have led to a 2nd red card- IMO.

Think the most embarrassing thing is some of the comments on here, trying to suggest anything just to have another pop at LJ without knowing any facts. What can be seen from the clip, LJ is offended by something said and tries to walk away but is being kept held of, which he takes exception to. Can't see he has done much wrong, and as for setting an example from what I seen of the players, they need to get a bit nastier and show some fight.

I am not an LJ fan nor think its time to remove him, but some are OTT in the quest for change and take any opportunity to snipe

I’m no way a fan of LJ and never have been, but have, at times, had to admit he has done well.

Our recurring situation shows that he is hindering the progression of our team and he has to go, if he had any honesty he would not wait to be pushed!

We have just lost 4 out of 5 games, after only losing 3 all season, not sure how everything we were doing before can now be so wrong, apart from players confidence and individual errors. We have been very unlucky with injuries and now have a widow to try and redress, with no obvious replacement I see no point in panicking and replacing now, if the season starts to fall away and play offs unlikely then is then time to start the manager search, rather than some knee jerk reaction replacement, which guarantees nothing

Took the piss? Perhaps they just admired a fabulous bit of skill like the rest of us? Why would that invoke fury and wanting to cut him down?

What do we go to watch football for if not to see professionals doing things we are incapable of?

I want entertainment, if LJ's team can't provide it then the opposition doing something special is at least some consolation.

Most of us can pass the ball sideways 5 yards in our back garden but we wouldn't expect others to pay £30 to see it and applaud us for it.

Johnson's red card has been rescinded. Which makes the whole episode even odder as I only saw a yellow card shown, and this was a minute or two after he is supposed to have had an altercation with the Brentford manager, by which point he was across the pitch and confronting the ref. Did this red ever really exist?

LJ said it did in the post match presser

Pretty distasteful in any event, as it was hardly like we were robbed by a succession of bad refereeing decisions or cynical behaviour by the opposition.

Youd get a banning order for less behaving like that in North Street matchday.

I don’t think he actually said outright that he was red carded, just that there was an incident/handbags

No the journo asked what card it was, he said “red”. It’s on you tube on BRISTOL City channel

But.. since our 'key' players, those at top of pay scale presumably, have returned from injury results have got worse.
