Interesting to note that Selhurst Park is hosting the Conti Cup Final today. Presumably the authorities don't think this will be detrimental. Do Palace Women often play at Selhurst?

COYR

Not that often. Palace fans I know are annoyed that both games overlap...

Sounds a great day! This might prove to have cracked the title race this season. I know there are many games left but this weekend will have made a big dent in London City's hopes. That's two defeats in the last three matches for them.

On to Durham next week...

Well done City Women.

No complacency next week as Durham are tough opponents on their own patch.

Beat Coventry United 5-1 today but I think the long travel could affect them next weekend...

Great results today.City and London City still to play each other again I believe.

Yep, in two weeks time in a rescheduled fixture. Same day as City men are away at Swansea. Think there's some overlap but the London City game is live on FA Player

Bit of a random thing to drop at the end of this interview that today was Lauren Smith's 50th game in charge at the club. I'd have loved to have known that beforehand...

Lauren always looks such a happy person, win or lose she`s always smiling. She must be overjoyed with how things are going.

Highlights below. Full game is available on FA Player. Saw/heard it back earlier today, and I am not sure if it's the acoustics inside the ground, but everyone that made noise home & away (including me) sound really well!

Is it my imagination watching this and the 2 results against Man City in the cup games that is there quite a gulf between the WSL and the Championship? If they get promoted what are the chances of staying up? Would it require a lot of recruitment? Do we know if SL is willing to back them appropriately?

Not meaning to sound too negative, just trying to understand the context. The same issues would apply to the current men’s team if they got promoted from the Championship to the Premier League - only a few players would make it at that level, so we would be dependent on recruiting a significant number of new players.

There is a gap, probably getting bigger each season as the WSL is increasingly dominated by the Premier big guns. Would require investment if promoted. The Man City results were probably a bit unfair on the team as we didn't play our strongest 11 in either game. If we get up, it will be a scrap with the bottom teams, but you can't be scared of success.

In answer to my other post, I have Lauren Smith's record as:

P-49   W-29  D-7  L-13

Win Percentage of 51.9%, or 88pts from a theoretical 147 (that's 59.8%) overall. Must be a lot of coaches who would like to be at that level.

I'm missing a game from somewhere but it still illustrates her tenure well. Could it be she will be head-hunted for more senior positions, like previous City coaches I could mention (but won't)?
