While you have to outlay more for the required facilities and staff required, if another Cat1 club wants to take a player through EPPP you're owed a greater amount in compensation. In terms of development Cat1 academies have to provide more coaching time to its players then Cat2 academies (can't remember the exact hours) so they have more time to help players develop.
