We got away with playing only 1 proper CM player in the first 4 games, it was never going to last.

It's crazy that for Saturday we Bakinson, Nagy & Massengo all on the bench, and play a super weak 'midfield' with Pato & COD who are not midfielders & Brunt whose best use is surely just to come on for 15 mins at the end of games to help see them out.

Deano 'head in the sand' stubbornness to play at least 2 proper CMs in games is costing us dearly. I'm sure had Bakinson, Nagy & Massengo all started against Norwich, their midfielders would not have had the freedom of the park to pick out those long passes which our back 3 could not manage.

Pato has been really poor the last 5 games and is a no.10, not a CM.

COD, although the least worst of our 3 who started in midfield yesterday, is a left winger. Although he was played CM by Eire and LJ, he said himself his preferred position is left wing.

We simply MUST be playing at least 2 proper CMs and without waiting for Williams and Walsh to be fit.

Said the same on the matchday thread. Play a formation with players in their correct positions and it simplifies everything, and thats exactly what we need at the moment. Even with the injuries we could of had 3 midfielders in midfield.

Definitely agree, the first few games against out of form and weaker sides, still had a the feel of blagging it,, with the late winner against cov, and bentley heroics against forest. If he continues to use this 1 holding midfielder tactic then its solely his responsibility if we keep losing. Oh, and if he keeps picking wells too....

Well said, it’s mad how many Central Midfielders we had and yet persevere with only Bakinson who’s playing his 1st season in the championship.

Even pushing Martin forward to lead the line with Pato in behind instead of Wells and a midfield 3of Massengo, Nagy & Bakinson would have given us a more stable platform to compete against Norwich.
