Was looking at Christmas trees online and there is a type of artificial tree called a Bedminster tree which is apparently characterised by it's slim profile.

As far as I am aware there is only one Bedminster in the UK so was wondering how this name came to be. Any "ideals"?

I believe the origin of the tree is Bernardsville-Bedminster in New Jersey USA

Is it perhaps named after the svelte figures of the local residents?

Are you sure you're not getting mixed up with a festivus pole?
