I've long thought this, especially at this level. We sometimes talk a good game, and the Bizarre Love Triangle of Lansdown - Ashton - LJ was peak-nonsense for me (a "Premier League club in waiting," "Europa League," "other clubs are looking at what we are doing," "we have a very exciting future in front of us," the "Making Bristol proud" thing, etc etc) gave us plenty of talk and not nearly enough walking the walk. This season has been a disgrace and enough to disillusion many supporters. SL ought to be fuming but also taking some responsibility. If a team begins to resemble its manager over time, then a club must surely reflect the owner of more than two decades? What we need is a team we can like, first and foremost. Some honesty, and integrity. Some ****ing effort. And some shots on target,ffs. Forget the play-offs and promotion and the shameless Premier bloody League, just give us something honest and decent, something relatable, some humility and integrity. For once, SL has appointed a no-nonsense manager. Let Big Nige go after the nonsense wherever he finds it (he'll be tripping over it all week up the High Pantomime Centre) before anything else.
