How can they sell tickets for a stand they're not currently allowed to bolt together?

They can build it without planning permission which can retrospectively be gained after the build.

Whether they would be allowed to use it is another matter maybe ?

On faith.

And presumably some robust but fair refund policies.

Their standard T&C's say they offer no refund for any element of any season ticket. There might be some extra terms around the new "stand" but I can't see those without signing up, and I'm damned if I'm going on their mailing list.

But yeh, it's a risk...or maybe it's not when you only sell three tickets?

Think the latest sentence is the crucial one. I can’t see how they’d get a safety certificate for a stand that doesn’t have planning consent.

£419 for a season ticket in their new stand, with various line of sight issues in League 1. Or £385 for a season ticket in a state of the art stand (with no pillars) in the Championship.

Tough choice :laugh::laugh:

They've got a mortgage to pay don't you know. It's basically a buy to let job.

Stop Notice or Injunction anyone?

If the height of the new stand is higher than the tent it replaces or capacity is increased by virtue of these works it might get a little interesting.

Obviously, they are as confident in getting all the necessary consents before the start of next Season as they were about ‘coming to get us’ this Season. Glad they seem to be still employing the legal bods who were so successful with the Sainsbury’s case.

The planning application hasn’t even been  registered yet ?.

As we’re aware, Bristol City Council isn’t widely renowned for their swift decision-making... Typically, applications of this nature require a period of 8-13+ weeks to navigate through the system, which means they could be waiting right up to the beginning of the new season (presuming the application is registered in the next week or so). There is also a possibility that the application might be subject to review by a planning committee, especially if concerns are raised by residents in Horfield.

It’s so tinpot and unprofessional from Rovers to be leaving the planning process until the last minute, especially when they’re selling season tickets for a stand that hasn’t got planning permission. Surely they could’ve done it months ago ??‍♂️

This probably isn’t going to end well… ?

But it wouldn't be the first time someone builds something assuming they will get approval at a later date only to be advised it had to be removed

Genuine question

How many rows are there in the Atyeo stand?

Just asked my gashed next door neighbour,  he reckons about 312.

No idea.

But the capacity is over 4200.

Can't remember, but I had a season ticket in row J, and there was 1 row between that one and the railings.

Assuming that that's the half way point, then around 22 rows.

It's a lot more rows on top of the mystical row m put it that way!!

They probably have the old stand stored away in someone's garage in the likelihood that get planning refused  and have to put the tent back up.

As previously mentioned, I suspect they intend simply to plough ahead and build (*assemble*) the stand, before even submitting a planning application.

By the time the new structure (almost twice the height of the existing tent) has taken shape, the local residents will finally have woken up to the impact of the new build. By that time though, it will be too late for them.

Any resistance to the progress of the application will draw the wrath of Wael, Barton and the Few, and one suspects sag Mayor Marvin Rees will see it through for them without too much bother. Basically, they'll bully their way through, bypassing the due process.

I expect that’s precisely how it’ll play out. A considerate way to treat your neighbours…
